Sorrow’s Furnace
Collection Expander: great disappointment
Sorrow’s Furnace
I don’t know about useless but it says exactly what it does in the description. If you still feel you deserve to be refunded send a support ticket and Anet might give you a break.
It specifically says it is for the Collections. This should not have been a surprise. I believe you’d have to submit a ticket if you truly want a refund.
For what it’s worth, I don’t find them useless at all. I have many items in my collections that far exceed the original 250 stack. These have been a very welcome addition in my opinion.
At the very least, people searching for information on the item can find some here. Hopefully it will help them make a better decision.

It’s really clear. Also why can’t you use that? Don’t you have a kittenload of T5 etc. mats?
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I built up some gems via gold today, decided to buy a Collection Expander to help with bank space. Bought, double clicked, and immediately disappointed. It only expands stacks to 500 in the Collection Bank Tab. The general bank tab and inventory still only stack to 250. This helps me 0%; what a waste.
Why in the world would they not have ALL stacks expand to 500 with the Expander?
I don’t suppose there’s anyway of refunding the “upgrade” for my 800 gems back? I wouldn’t have bought it if I’d have known it was so limited and useless.
Don’t feel left out I also made same mistake, although it’s easy enough to say it’s clearly stated, i can bet we are not the only ones to have made this misconception. I was really disappointed I purchased mine and I certainly don’t have the money to chuck away like that, but i just live with it now but now know not to make the mistake of purchasing one again.

I can bet the percentage of people who expected it to increase one’s ability to hold twice the amount of items for a single stack of mats from 250 to 500, to be extremely low and limited. It is clearly stated to what it does, and what it does is gives you room in your bank, not inventory to hold more collectibles. It’s easy to say this because it doesn’t require much to understand this. It’s plain and simple and you guys thought too much into it and expected it to do waaaaay more than it was supposed to.
The Guild Wars Universe has always had a maximum stack size of 250.

Except that you also don’t know what it does. It doesn’t increase stacks in your bank, it increases stacks in your collections.
If it worked on your bank, I’d buy one. With it only working on the collections a bank tab is better value for money for me.
I love the expanders. It saved me so much space. It’s a hoarder thing I guess. I also did not have a problem understanding the description.
Collection Expander
Double-click to consume.
Double-click to increase the maximum stack size of all bank collections by 250.
I just came here to say that from the moment I read the item’s name I knew what it was about.
The issue here -I think- is that people often do not know what exactly the term Collections encapsulates, and so they get wrong ideas about it. It happens.

Agreed. I’m sure few players notice that the mat tab at the bank is called “Collections”.
RIP City of Heroes
I remember a number of people being disappointed when they first came out. After reading of the disappointment, I decided not to buy any.

Yeah I knew that. I kinda stated that too. If you had read my response, I stated it allows your bank to hold more collectibles. Which is true. It does. What I was responding to was someone’s expectations of the Expander increasing the size of stacks allowed for their account in general from 250 to 500.

The above is what I was referring to. It was stated earlier that it was just the collections tab by OP and various others in this thread that is was for the Collections Tab. Stating that your bank can hold more collectibles is not wrong when discussing the Collection Expander because that’s exactly what it does. The name itself is easy to understand and I would assume most would see it as common knowledge that its directed to the Collections Tab.
On a side note: One can buy them enough times to get to stacks of 1500 in the Collections Tab. If you have more than that in collectibles, its probably time to start using them or selling them.

Seems like it was as clear to u as it was to me. So your also part of the low and limited few because I also thought it was to expand in your bank and collectibles not inventory. So it seems it was not as clearly stated as you seem to think so.
