Firstly, I love the unlimited gathering tools. Thank you for fixing the sickle animation and putting it back from mining to actually using a sickle.

However, the timing of the animation and the animation of the gathering are off to me. I think the effect would look much better if the water spout came during or directly after the harvesting, like you cut through the plants and they are spouting water or something.

The sound is soooo much better so thanks for fixing that also.

Please anyone else post your thoughts and opinions.

keeping to the Sclerite theme:

Change the sickle to a Tentacle-whip, use the Consortium-whip animation.
Darken the waterspout to a Scleritic ooze, so that the ground “bleeds” when you whip those plants up.

Really Anet? Are you kittening kidding me? I just got the sickle and I was like WTF?

The first harvest with it, I forgot I have it. The second, I noticed the animation and on the third I noticed the sickle.

First: We harvest to fast and move to the next thing right away so noticing the animation is hard.
We have to stand still to noticed and “Hey! I’ll stay here and wait for the animations to show” is not an option.

Second: Again, using the sickle is so fast we can barely notice the sickle itself. Take the Molten Alliance Mining Pick for example; the moment we start mining, the pick stands for itself (the rest of the animation just make it awesome).
Adding some effect to the sickle will definitely improve it.

Third: The animation is barely noticeable, not only because the delay is to long, but because is to small. Also, the animations is perfect, just perfect for a logging axe but for a sickle not to much.
Changing it to something different like a lightning/flashing effect would be great (again, we harvest to fast that it will make sense).

Now, if changing any of that is to hard, just turn it into a logging axe (it doesn’t look like an axe but it doesn’t look like a sickle neither).

Finally, if you still want to make profit but are to lazy to do something of quality like the MAMP, next time just release unlimited gathering tools without any effect and problem solved, I assure you we will get them without hesitation (although you have to sell the 3 for 800 gems or it will be a fraud).

The animation should be bigger and happen sooner.

I’m not thrilled that the animation is basically taken from a ranger heal skill….. so if Anet can change it to be more “exotic” like large jungle flowers blooming with a large water gusher than that would be cool.

if you had got it 2 days ago, you’d notice the difference. Everyone and their mother was on here complaining how crappy it was to spend 3 times longer harvesting and that the animation was reused and it was a mining pick, etc. etc. etc.

I honestly think people are expecting too much of it. When I heard the Molten Mining Pick had a unique animation, I was expecting a few sparks, maybe a slight glow. Instead I see fountains of lava, a huge, bright, over-the-top effect. IMO they went way overboard with the mining animation, and the sickle animation is more along the line of what I’d expect to see. If the sickle had come out first, nobody would have complained. But now the mining pick has set the bar for animation too high, and people are disappointed.
