Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.
bag slot – 20 slots – 400 gems
bank tab – 30 slots – 600 gems
Seems like a fair price to me, already bought quite a few.

You still need to buy a 20 slot bag though, once you got the bag slot unlocked….

But as I pointed out the problem here is that the bag slots are not account wide while the bank tab is.
And if it’s account wide then bag slot = 20 slots per character Vs 30 slot bank tab shared by all making it a steal. So no then.

Then buy more to upgrade each character. Simple solution really. Or, if you can’t afford to purchase Gems, just fill each character’s Bag Slot with a 20s bag.
OR… wait for the Gem Store sale.
There you go. Three tips on how to help your situation. No need to thank me!
They just need to implement an equipment bag that carries 2-3 sets of equipment/weps. I find gear to be the most space consuming unless you only have one build/set.

Bag Slot – 20 slots – 400 gems (~19g gold→gems) – 20 gems/slot
Bank Tab – 30 slots – 600 gems (~28g gold→gems) – 20 gems/slot
Guild Stash – 50 slots – 5g (~150 gems→gold) – 2.5 gems/slot
Treasure Trove – 100 slots – 40g (~1225 gems→gold) after stash – 13 gems/slot
Deep Cave – 100 slots – 60g (~1800 gems→gold) after Trove – 18 gems/slot
This is at the current gem→gold rate. If you want to spend gold for storage, it’s even better for buying guild storage. 56g for 60 bank slots vs 45g for 150 guild slots; yes, over double the storage for less gold.
How does it look now?
Buying a new character for only twice as much (1.5 times as much during the sale) also gives you 5 times the amount of slots. It’s by far the most efficient method of storage.

It’s convenience. Alternatively, just salvage your junk or sell it on the TP. All it does is save you a trip to the merchant. If that’s worth 5€ to you, spend it. If not, don’t.

What I really don’t get is why they limit Bank slots to 8…
Just take my money already…
There is also the convience of not needing to go deposit things in the bank with the bag slot… and if you’re doing things like speed clearing dungeons/aether events it helps keep your inventory from maxing out when you’re trying to do things quickly and don’t have time to weed through it all. I’ve had less need of bigger bags since the account MF was added since I can just salvage and get that MF.

Some of you people need to realise that bag slots actually require BAGS put in them…

Bank Golem? :P
The salvaging thing is probably why I’ve been fine with just 1 extra bag slot on most characters with 15 slot bags. On the other hand I don’t do much dungeons. Even non-speedclear dungeon can easily fill up inventory.
I actually REALLY appreciate the price of these! Lots of free-to-play games do stuff where you basically rent extra bag and bank space. The fact that GW2 has a relatively cheap 1 time purchase per character for them is really nice.
I mean, I understand that $5 might not be cheap, but it’s something that lasts forever and improves QOL for that character forever.

Totally okay. I’m not making a lot of gold cause I want to level all chars to 80 and complete the maps with all of them. So not much time to farm.
But still okay and enough to change to gems… or I could buy gems with real money.
I don’t need much guild bank from my 1-man-guild… cause it only stores non-bound stuff and I have a lot of account bound skins and crafting stuff.
The best storage is your own bank… and with the increase of tabs now… this is nice(and I’m not storing like 10 armor sets per char lol…. only wearing 1 armor on each char… so I have a lot of free bank space. only using 4 tabs atm). Bank is worth the 600.
More bag slots only to farm better and not having to go to vendor that often. You don’t really need them for stuff you carry around permanently.
The 400 gems price is fine. Also I think sometimes they are on sale(of course that won’t happen to often and you don’t know it before it is on sale cause they don’t want you to wait and plan to buy cheaper).
