In response to ongoing issues related to overflows, I suggest this PvE focused item be made and sold through the gem store!

We have “custom arena” for PvP, is the same technology adaptable for guilds who are currently “popping overflows” to congregate in world events?

To ensure multi-server guilds (like TTS) can effectively use this, replace the user whitelist with a game-wide guild whitelist.

With simplicity and consistency with the intent of a regular overflow, I also suggest that there be no customization options.

Perhaps this is an “instance” solution that retains the feel of the open world?

I also suggest the item be giftable, so a single guild leader need not be responsible for purchasing them.

While I would love this item, coding such a thing would be insane. Imagine hundreds of individual players creating their own Overflows at once. The servers would break from the stress.

An alternate idea would be to be able to “rent time” on a specific Overflow server. A challenge would be coding a way to kick all players when the time runs out.

In GW2, Trading Post plays you!

As the owner of a software development company and delinquent coder myself, it is not an “insane” task. Do you understand how the server power is allocated? It is all virtualized dynamic, according to the presentation on it that I watched. Adding more overflows does not mean that there will be increased load on the backbone. Same number of entities.. And if priced and planned properly, you probably wouldn’t see lots of individuals throwing their money to the wind.

The coding for closing a PvP instance already exists how would it be more difficult with a PvE instance?
