Dear Pyre Dye Sellers
Lol they will never do that. Make more money for it or forget about it. Also… isn’t this a sort of attack thread?

More of a joke thread tbh, I doubt any of them are reading…. but if they are, KITTEN you guys! >:O
Oh I see lol
Well start savin’ dat gold!
Pyre dye was 74g 2 weeks ago. Why would you expect it to go any lower?
This only helps to raise the price, if anything. Your trick doesn’t work with dyes like these. Most likely, they trickle it to the market and ship it out good when ascended armor crafting is introduced. With a new makeover, everyone wants a nice new color to match it.
70g ? shouldn’t be that hard is it ?

I don’t even know why the dyes are so cheap. The drop rate of those rare dyes is very low.
I blew all my saving buying the dye pack and it was a terrible idea. I won’t buy the dye pack again even if every rare dye is worth more than 70 gold.
That is how low the drop rate is. It puzzled my mind why anyone would buy the dye pack when they can get it directly through the trading post.
If you don’t want to buy the dye pack. Don’t do it. Maybe in a year or two they’ll come back to the gem store and you can get it for cheap again.
Yeah, I had this plan too when they came back on anniversary. Let’ jut say 4000 gems and one flame dye later I saw the error of my ways. No more gem buying for gold with anything RNG dependant. These rare dyes are a good or were good investment if you don’t like flipping much and just want to invest into something to keep up with inflation.
I don’t understand the appeal of Pyre Dye anyway. It’s yellow, and a fugly yellow at that…

however, this is a game, a really horribly managed game, prices like that would never happen in the real world because the real world would just give the finger and never buy something as expensive as that.

Actually, prices like that happen all the time in the real world. You do realize a diamond is just a rock, right?

Because we can’t be angry about both?

Prices on the TP are not controlled by Anet, they are solely the responsibility of the players selling and buying the items there. Flame and Frost dyes, for example, are a limited time item, and once used they cannot be sold. So over time the number available for sale will go down (unless they are brought back for a limited time as they recently were), and the price will go up.
If players weren’t buying the items at this price, they would not be selling for this price. Anet is not doing anything wrong, in fact the TP, while simplified, has a lot in common with real world markets.
You can spend $5,000 on a car, or $50,000 (or more). Either one will get you to work and back, why would anyone pay so much?
Omg people I got the dye like a day and a half ago now lol. Cant believe this thread is still active! /CLOSED thank you.

Sorry, but we don’t need your permission to discuss the subject.

You started the thread. You started the thread 23 hours ago. A day and a half is 36 hours. This thread has not existed for that long. Also, whether or not you have the item that the thread was made upon has no bearing on whether people post.
Thank you for reading.
I don’t find it to be worth 70g or whatever, but apparently some do. I felt silly paying like 10g for a rare time limited dye… but people put different values on different things.

Actually… If you, the client, are big enough and powerful enough, you CAN get the seller to bend over backwards to clinch your deal. You’d be surprised how much haggling and negotiation goes into high-level contracts between big companies. Some of the things they stipulate in their contracts are downright amazing/mind-boggling/petty.
Kinda disgusted with the drop rates on dyes. A friend whom plays maybe a little more than I has received 3 of them this year. Also a Celestial and Abyss drops too! My best dye drop to date, iirc, has been a white gold.
A/B has to factor in here somewhere…

in the real world there is material worth, in games that doesn’t exist.
you can’t simply make a material out of thin air IRL, in games that happens all the time.

That is true, but if there’s only ONE supplier and the demand is high, the price rise regardless of what the client “wants”

They’re minerals marie! Jesus.
Is there any color that worth more than 10g? I think no.
Until these dyes aren’t offering texture layers, I will buy no more.
Not even another Abyss or Charred.

^ you dont’ have to buy it.
But don’t blame the players for the price rise.
And fill free to use your own real money or trade gold for gem to buy the RNG box yourself instead of blaming other players.
I bought my Pyre dye for 60g a few months back. It is great for the Phoenix armour, and it looks like a really nice gold on my human cultural light armour.
I don’t understand the appeal of Pyre Dye anyway. It’s yellow, and a fugly yellow at that…
This…. paying 80g for yellow dye that you can buy for 15 silver off the TP with almost the same exact appearance – makes no sense.
80 Ranger (3), 80 Warrior (3), 80 Thief (3)
80 Ele (2), 80 Engi (3), 80 Rev (2)
Pyre isn’t the most expensive one anyway… Deep Glacial is being sold for 100g (asking price 81g). (Pyre 78/64)
Hmmm, that would help towards my legendary…
I think the price of these dyes is high not only becaus of its limited stock, but also by its great contrast in armors.
I don’t have a screen with pyre, but let me show you Abyss dye vs. Charred dye:

http://i2.minus.com/i6KkIaGCQr2QN.PNG (charred)
Those skirt details are much obvious with high contrast dyes.
I’m sure the people selling it would happy to sell it to some one else for 70g. Remember, you are not the only person in the game. There are millions of players in the economy.
Since the opening poster’s issue has been resolved, this topic is now closed. Thank you.
