Hello, Mr. Gnashblade.

I’m writing on behalf of the interests of a third party. Wishing to remain anonymous, they assure me that they are, quoting, “totally not me, I swear”.

My client has expressed a desire to help your Black Lion Trading Company recuperate from its recent – and terrible – molestation by Kiel’s (who my client “totally didn’t vote for”) Lionguard.

As a sign of solidarity, my client has asked that – if the opportunity presents itself – should the Black Lion Trading Company come across any stores of Molten Mining Picks and / or confiscated, “missing” caches of Consortium Harvesting Sickles, if one or both of these items were to find their way to my client’s estate, they would be very grateful and have indicated that a sizable donation of 2000 gems would almost certainly be warranted in order to repay such generosity.

Certainly, Mr. Gnashblade, my client understands that as a reputable member of Tyria’s commercial infrastructure, it is not within your power to directly influence the open market; but hopes that there may be opportunity for collaboration in the near future.

On a personal level, the more gold i have in game the more valuable it is to me, as long as it keeps up with general inflation. Personal infraction points will be more valuable to other users of the forum.

What did i win?

There is more than one “John Smith” in this world. John Smith is also the accepted “generic name” for males in the US and UK (and possibly elsewhere). You seem to assume they are meaning the ArenaNet John Smith, despite their stating an entirely different profession in their response.

Also, I suspect falsely reporting posts may lead to an infraction for wasting a moderator’s time (though I do not believe you actually did report it as you stated, just saying).

You cna actually check, if a post was already reported or not, by reporting it yourself. IF it was already reported, you will get a headline stating just that, if not, a window will pop up under the post, where you can state, why you want to report the post.

You cna actually check, if a post was already reported or not, by reporting it yourself. IF it was already reported, you will get a headline stating just that, if not, a window will pop up under the post, where you can state, why you want to report the post.

I did check that It led to my editing and adding a comment in the final portion of my response in parenthesis. It’s a handy little trick to see if one has been or not. Another good trick is that spaces count as characters so one can have a very short comment with spaces after it to meet the minimum character requirements.

Only if rarity is maintained – a REALLY good infraction-worthy post is SO much more valuable to us from an entertainment value perspective than one that barely crossed the line

This John Smith must be inquiring information on whether or not Evon has a backlog of Molten Picks and Consortium Harvesting Sickles because HE’S FREAKING HYPERION!!

This guy is probably Handsome Jack, waiting to know if its worth the effort of barging into the BLTC to steal all the infinite gathering tools Gnashblade, and then double the price for them in his own Hyperion Gemstore!!

I doubt there will be infraction points because the tone of the letter made it clear that it was not pretending to be from John Smith (it was pretending to be pretending to be). I do however hope to see a reply from the one and only real John Smith saying “Do not meddle in the affairs of developers, for they are subtle and quick to alter the requirements for that legendary you’ve been working on!”
