Usually I am not the Person to be greatly annoyed by implemented changes into the economy. For the first time today though i feel greatly cheated.
With last months Karma change there was a rollback and anet admitted it was “not communicated”. Then how would you call this?

In a sidenote of the new patch it reads ‘Sentinel’s inscriptions can now be purchased from the guild vendor.’

Most certainly not unlike many others I had some of those stored in my bank to sell for materials after the new patch. There was no indication or any communication, that a change like this would be made.

What happened obviously everybody that hat a standing buy order on them withdrew their money from the TP as soon as it was back up, resulting in the destruction of 100’s if not 1000’s of gold people thought to be safely in their vault.

Now i completely understand that the economy can change, and as such can be predicted or not. But this change was neither predictable NOR previously announced. Therefore this HAS to result in a compensation for those affected. As I am sure there are a lot of people affected and way worse then me. (as i lost ONLY 100G which is nonetheless a substatial amount of my money)

Tl;dnr: Money was destroyed in a grand scheme tonight.

Please respond to this as quickly as possible.

If it was announced, prices most likely would’ve changed drastically within minutes of the said announcement, and people still would’ve been screwed.

i.e. ecto prices after Lindsey Murdock’s livestream introducing ascended weapons.

If I’m not mistaken, these were originally basically a windfall drop that people had plenty of time to sell at a profit.

If you had sentinel items for sale and they did not sell, then you were asking too much.

The market changes, often in unexpected ways and putting something up for sale is not the same as making a sale – otherwise, I would put this limited edition keychain up for sale for $200,000 and then use that pending sale as security on a new home. What could possibly go wrong?

You didn’t predict this? I though it would be obvious with them letting you select whatever stat combo you want and all. The possibility of the sentinel’s combo on ascended gear was also a giveaway.

Just wait until they announce an alternate method for precursors. There’ll be like 1000 dusks for sale.

They did state that they want all stat combinations in the game. To think that the monopoly on Sentinel’s stats would continue was therefore shortstighted. You gambled and lost.

You speculated and you lost.

You didn’t see me complaining about investing in a stack of dust and having it drop to 12s in one day.

Does it suck? Yes. But it’s part of the risk.

Well, at first time u speculated that sentinel insignias would rise price and u won, but then u speculate again with ur insignias and u lost T_T, welcome to the stock market, sometimes u win, sometimes u lose.
Remember, when u win collect ur money and go out. Do not be greedy next time, or be greedy but no cry in forums

I fetched 10 of them during the selling frenzy for 2-3 gold, im quite happy.

First of all, 2-3 gold for any exotic inscription is a bargain and i am sure, it will go up again and stabilize between 5-10G because apart from all the inscriptions that were dusting in banks all over Tyria, supply is still limited.

10 commendations is alot for the exchange.

Eh? Have Sentinel’s inscriptions/insignia really crashed? Looking at guildwarstrade still has them selling for about 6g (inscriptions) and 18g (insignia). These are the Ori/Gossamer versions. Unless that site is outdated?
