Hi all,

I’m sorry if this has already been asked – I did try searching and reading back over the last few pages but couldn’t find it.

I have a mid-level character on whom I have unlocked additional bag slots in exchange for gems – if I delete him will any new character that I make in the same character slot still have the upgrade?

Unfortunately, as I continue to play I get more and more irked by a few of the appearance options that I chose for my Sylvari during character creation, particularly how they interact with the look of his armour. The visual style of an avatar is very important to me – I can spend hours fiddling in the character creator and I have a serious case of altoholism – so I’m tempted to remake him with an improved appearance now that I’m more aware of what to avoid. Of course that probably isn’t going to be a viable choice if the purchased upgrade is lost, so in that case I guess I’ll just have to ignore the issue.

Does anyone know if I can remake a character but retain the unlocked bag slot upgrades?

You should wait until they release character appearance change tickets. Inventory space upgrades are unique to each character.

I’m hopeful that character appearance changes will be available soon as well, but I’d prefer not to rely on something that may not be implemented for months, if even at all.

Yep, but I’m referring to upgrading the number of bag slots available on a character, not the number of shared bank spaces.

I did notice that when you try to delete a character there is a warning that states:

Deleting a character will permanently destroy any items in that character’s inventory as well as any character-based unlocks associated with that character.

I assume that here ‘unlocks’ refers to the bag slot upgrades, would that be right? Or are there any other ‘character-based unlocks’ that it could be talking about?

I would personally interpret that warning to include bag slots, but as I’ve already demonstrated in this thread, I don’t always know what I’m talking about.

I would take that warning as a yes, bag slot will be destroyed.

The bank storage upgrades 600 Gems each are account wide. But the Character bag slots 400 Gems each are locked to that character and can not be reclaimed if you delete it.

I’f you invested in additional bag slot I would rethink a total deletion of that character till a later date. I only invested such slots on a character I knew I would never delete. But I was more freely willing to upgrade Bank tabs for more storage options…

Sorry there is not a way to reclaim such purchased upgrades to be used elsewhere, but at this time there is not a way to do so.
