…give any undocumented bonuses (a la sprocket pick)?

As far as I know, no they don’t.

looks like anet learned their lesson. now they just need to fix the previous unlimited tools that do have bonuses. my advice to them: don’t listen to the “but I only bought it because it had a bonus” crowd. If you must, offer them a refund if they have a one with a bonus and another one without a bonus.
as far as I know, there are 2 with bonuses: the watchwork pick (gives sprockets in addition to normal stuff) and the consortium sickle (harvests faster than normal sickle)

I honestly don’t care about the consortium’s bonus, I mean, it’d be cool if other ones got a speed enhancement, but ever since the watchwork pick came out I had a bad taste in my mouth about it.
It really felt like I was being punished for buying the other unlimited tools as soon as they came out. If I had never bought a pick before then I would have just bought the watchwork and been happy, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend the extra just for sprockets when I already had an unlimited tool.

No bonus? No thanks then. I’d certainly be angry if one came out in the future that did have bonuses.

The watchwork (which I own and love) precedent always makes me pause, when I am compelled to buy another tool. For me, taking away the bonus would make it easier for me to make future tool purchases.

I bought the Watchwork Pick the last time it went on sale (or maybe the time before last, I don’t remember). Just from my home instance (and a few days of Orr farming), I’ve basically paid it off already.

Then again, everyday I get ~50s from Sprockets alone in my home instance (roughly 20% of which comes from the pick).

Yep. That’s why it’s best not to buy bonus-free tools.

Also, before that I had been running around with my Molten Pickaxe (which has already been paid for because at the gem prices when I bought it, it was roughly 10g).

Now, I only mine with my Watchwork Pick and I avoid gathering on other characters, in general.

Wait until they try to finish the watchwork tools set.

Yeah, the Watchwork Pick basically spoiled me for all other tools. Like the rest of you guys, I never buy the unlimited tools anymore unless it has a special bonus. I DO feel that the tools need to be standardised, but in the meantime, I’m reaping the rewards of my Watchwork Pick at least once a week.

As an aside, the Molten sickle is just as fast as the Consortium sickle.

Now here is what they should have done with the bone tools made a bonus where we get a 20% of get what ever the highest bone crafting item is in the game right including the bone pick.

I really think that the sets should all give out a bonus item that is related to the theme of the item (Azurite, passiflora, candy corn, snowflakes, quartz etc.)

That would give me a reason to actually purchase more of them.
