Hey, I just experienced the same thing. I sold an amulet for 3 g on the spot, with 15 silver fee, and an orichalcum filligree for 14 silver. When I logged on about six-seven hours later I have 2g 70 silver in the pick up…

No. You just discovered that there is a 10% sales tax that isn’t clearly listed on the trading post. There is a 5% posting fee, your 14 silver. Then there is an additional 10% sales tax fee that gets deducted from your profit if the item sells. Thus there is a 15% fee in total for items sold on the trading post. This sales tax is listed on the wiki and discussed all over the forums, but not yet clearly spelled out on the TP.

The OP is discussing a different problem. Unfortunately, I don’t know whether his problem is real, a bug, failure to take the sales tax into account, or a misremembered sale. I have not personally left my money in the trading post long enough to test this.

I have submitted a ticket for this issue with no response yet from support (a few days ago.)

My example:

Bought items for 26c 65s for full stack, sold for 31c. full stack goes on market for 75s, 4s posting fee.

When all items are sold, my pickup amount is only 67s. So in essence I lost 12s total to taxes and posting fees. 4s to post, and another 8s to a hidden sales fee.

As a result, and by doing these trades several times to validate results, I have taken a loss off something that should have been a profit.

If the tax is supposed to be there, let us know. If not, can they reimberse via the ticket I’ve submitted?

I’m having the same issues too. Been having it for a while and the recent one i lost almost 1g from hidden tax. I sold 2 exo armor for 4g 50s, but i only get 2 g 65 s from the pick tab. 10% = 45s, so i should be getting at least 4g from the sales. TP is kinda messed up.

You’re totally missing something here.

First, yes, there is a 10% sales tax. So your sale will cost you 15% worth of taxes/fees.

Second, you likely only sold one of your items, and the other is still listed.

Check to make sure that you actually sold both. Either way, the numbers don’t add up.
