Well I had to put this in somewhere. This constant boss farming for dragonite ore is the pits. I mean day in day out and we can’t farm the same boss more than 1 per day. It takes forever to get the ingots you need for crafting. Yet that stupid bloodstone dust drops everywhere practically. I’d like to make 4 suggestions either will work –
1. Create a trader that will turn bloodstone dust into dragonite ore – lets face it 4000 bloodstone dust is a bit much in the old bank account.
2. Allow us to trade the materials on the Black Lion trading company.
3. Start having mobs drop the ore periodically other than just the bosses.
4. Make the ore available in the chest drops

Please think about this, I think it would make it a whole lot simpler with smaller groups of people on smaller servers.

While I agree with your proposal for a dust converter, I don’t think it can or should be a gemstore item.

Other than that, the above quote is incorrect. Each individual character on you account can loot a boss once a day for dragonite. So let’s say you have 6 lvl 80 characters, you can get 180 dragonite ore from just doing the Grenth event 6 times. Tip: guesting will allow you to participate in more temple events in a shorter timeframe.

I made 3 ascended things (Light coat and skirt, and the wings) and getting the dragonite was the least difficult part. Silk, now, silk slowed me down a lot once my stock was exhausted.

Right now if you are fighting the Marionette and getting cypher keys, you can get a nice amount of dragonite out of the Scarlet’s Lair chests, along with a lot of yellows. I’ve even heard of two precursor drops out of the chests (only two, so no one should expect to have a real chance at one).

i have over 3,000 of dragonite ore and bloodstone dust way too much and the other one i have at lest 1,000 of them

Empyreal Fragments is a bigger problem….

A trader for both Dragonite Ore and Empyreal Fragments would be nice.

I am a dungeon runner and having to waste my time in something as boring as repeating Temples and the same 3 boring events over and over and over and over with ALL my characters in order to get that rubbish, that other people not interested in crafting Ascended are actually trashing from their inventories makes me more than mad.
We don’t need an item to convert bloodstone, we need to reduce the drop of it and fill the gap with dragonite ore! Make it so that from a box you get either ore or bloodstone, because this way it’s ridiculous. I have like 10000 bloodstone and in days of grinding I’ve barely gotten 1000 dragonite ore.

Please. No more Dragonite Ore. I am overflowing on this stuff.

Making crafting ingredients account bound was a very curious (read: “wrong”) decision by ArenaNet.

At the very least they should remove the binding from the Vision Crystals and let us sell those.

Ingots are 100:1 ratio. Why anyone would be hording Dragonite without making ingots I have no idea. For those that don’t do the temples and dragons every day, Dragonite is in very short supply.

As for the Blood stone dust, yea you get tons and you don’t have to do much for it. Empryeal (or however its spelt) arent bad either. You can get a few in EVERY chest drop, JP, world chests (i.e. there are 6 in queensda;e) and everytime you take a tower or camp in WvW. Dragonite ore is the real problem with them dropping on on world bosses, temples, and keep and Stonemist lords. You might be able to sang a couple as well in dungeon runs too at the final boss. I think if we lower the amount of bloodstone dust we get a a bit more dragonite ore, it would be a better idea. I dont think a converter is the way to go and TP isnt a good idea either. It would make ascended items to easy to make and it would be like making exotics. I think just a balance in drops between bloodstone dust and Dragonite ore and we will good to go. The other ascended mat is in a good place right now. Lots of places to get them, but you don’t bombard your inventory with them either.

karma is literally more valuable than gold. extra bank space is far preferable than wasting 100k karma just to save space. I’d sooner destroy dragonite than refine it, and sooner buy another bank toon than destroy something that should be valuable.

The real cost is converting Ascended material in (Ingots, Wood, Leather, etc). I do wish we could get Dragonite ore from dungeons but, this is how Anet gets players to do events in the game world.

Now, how is Karma hard to come by? Also, what the heck do you need 7 million for???

each event only gives a couple hundred karma. ascended requires thousands, legendary requires a million. it takes around 5,000 events to get a million karma. refining my 4000 dragonite ore would consume 168,000 karma – more than my ascended set. karma is hard to come by.

I wish I could sell all my useless dragonite ore as I have no intentions of crafting… EVER!!!

Its not an accident that you actually have to get out into the world and hit something to get these materials.

how about able to sell the vision crystals and lesser vision crystals?
sorta like how mithrillium is account bound but deldrimor ingot isn’t.

Whilst I strongly think that it is nice to have rewards that can’t just be bought on the TP, I do agree that making dragonite tradeable would at least give us options to acquiring them, therefore selecting our preferred way to play the game.

Anet’s point of view to “introduce” people to different gaming experiences by tying certain rewards to specific content could very much be seen as forcing players to do specific content.
Example: If I want to do high-level fractals and might even want to do them with different characters/classes, I will need ascended equipment. Therefore I need dragonite. Therefore I have to do world bosses to be able to enjoy the content I want.

This again goes against their self-proclaimed principle of “play how you want”.

Instead of making dragonite etc tradeable, they could of course introduce an exchange vendor. And whilst they are at it, they could also tackle the issue with all the useless ascended rings that do nothing but use up bank space…
