Ecto return rate from BLSk/Mystic Salvage Kit
I’d say their rates have definitely decreased over the past year. I remember having a chance of ending up with a profit by buying rares (they were the same price as ecto) and then salvaging. 60% of the time with either a rate of 1:1 or better. These days it’s not an uncommon thing to salvage 3 ecto from 9 rares for me.
I agree. I use a BLSK or a mystic kit(when I dont have a BLSK) on rares for the increased chance in ectos. If all I get is one elder wood, or one mithril ore, or a rune/sigil, I won’t make any more mystic kits and I won’t buy any BLSK. Ill spend a few copper and get a crude kit.
This is getting credulous. Its been like this for a while now, and I thought this had been corrected long ago.
Still the same, I’ve been keeping track. On average it’s 0.9 ectos per but there is a roughly 1 in 3 chance of getting nothing each time. It’s only when you are salvaging a lot at one time that the number really starts to converge on 0.9. In small numbers you can salvage low and on occasion really high but rarely “close” to the average.
To clarify, I’m talking about the master/mystic kits.

I rarely salvage less than 10 at a time as it’s too common to salvage a couple and get nothing. You need to salvage a minimum of 10 to come close to the the average of 0.9.
Save them up till you get at least 10, and preferably 20, before salvaging.
Yeah I noticed that anet changed it long ago so that using a BLSK yields WAY less ectos than it did before. I rarely ever get 3 ectos from 1 salvage and even with 25 BLSK uses I probably only get like less than 20 ectos.
