I think the old price of the ectoplasm is comming… Look at the amount of ecto on the tp in the last 24hours.

2/3, 20h, 47479 ecto to sell => 3/3, 18H, 39410 ecto. And the price hit 28 silver each in the last hours and don’t stop grinding.

What do you think on this ? Should we buy ectoplasm now or just don’t care ?

Not worth buying. The market is just stablizing from that “exploit” that resulted in excess ectoplasm as ANet would call it. Buying now would cost you 27s a piece, and would only break even at 31-32s. Ecto hasn’t been that price for over a month.

Yes but i have to buy these ecto for my legendary, so i should buy it now, before the price up no ?

Ectoplasm price fluctures a bit because it’s a highly traded commodity.
It is very hard to predict where the price will go.

My gut is that it will go higher since it will have a high demand when the scavenger patch is released.

We just don’t know when it will be. Next month? Six months?

If you are buying for a legendary, I would say now would be better than later to buy. The price should be increasing to stablize at the price they were at pre-‘exploit’.

I don’t see the price going down anytime soon imho. Not unless another exploit comes along.

I don’t mean to cross post because I mentioned this in the crafting forum, but T5 mat prices are on the rise and ecto price is a lagging indicator of T5 mat prices.

At the moment, the very thin margin you can make as an ecto crafter is basically gone so there will be fewer ectos on the market and the price will go up.

It depends on what you would otherwise do with that money. If you’re constantly ploughing it back into active investment opportunities, and you have the ability to consistently outpace inflation, then I would say no, buying now is not a good idea. But if you’re just saving up, with a lot of gold sitting doing nothing, then yes, buying now is a good idea.

And like the t5, the t6 mat are going to rise too I think… so I’ve probably made a good deal buying all the material for a legendary one weeks ago, and the ecto today at 27s. And if finally I don’t want to make this legendary, I can sell the components with no lose on it (or some proffit… who know). Pretty good deal.

I was fortunate to complete my gifts of might and magic about a week ago.

I sold my last big batch of ecto all at over 28s – it’s fluctuating a lot as some people are willing to drop their price 50c for a quick sale but the mean price does seem to be going up.

The irony for me is that after selling about 10,000 ecto in the last week or so, I didn’t hold back the 250 I still need for my legendary.

So silly.

Personally ectos can be easily acquired. The point is ecto supply can be drying up which can cause prices to go up slightly. But I don’t predict ectos will go shot up like the other mats due to the fact that there are multiple ways of acquiring it.
