Elder wood prices, will it last?
it will stay low unless anet introduces a new sink for elder wood.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
People will never stop farming for foxfire as long as there is a demand for foxfire. And the backpiece/living story is permanent content. So we’re probably looking at a Thick Leather v2, useless forever.
I think most players will be set within a month or two, so if they don’t add new needs for Foxfire, there will always be a demand, but a trickle of demand, meaning that farming for Foxfire will no longer be worth it. People will harvest Elder at about the rate they used to. I think the price of Elder will stay low, but it will rise from where it is now.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
Ever since release, the prices of wood and leather remained the same as the lowest among the three.
But yeah probably it will reach 20copper max not more.
Yeah, prices for Foxfire have been on a slow but steady decline over the last two weeks. I fully expect this trend to continue since demand for Foxfire will peter out as more and more players get their Mawdrey backpieces (and only one is needed per entire account), but the supply of Foxfire will only grow as players never stop harvesting Elder Wood.
At the same time, I expect more players to craft level 80 Rare staves (and maybe bows) to throw into the Forge for gambling while prices are low.
Artificer rares are definitely a good sink for elder wood. Personally, I craft them, then salvage to pop ectos into existence, but there’s nothing wrong wirh forging them either.
I expect elder wood prices to actually rise with the start of the tournament. Elder wood is used to upgrade siege blueprints to superior. So while there is a huge influx now, much of that is going to be used up with the tournament, and prices will go back up.

There is simply too much elder wood in the market right now and in the near future to overcome the small demand for siege blueprints.
Unless anet works on a new sink for elder logs, I do not see it going up anytime soon.
