First time I’ve seen this listed, only one up and no bidders so I assume it was a recent change, anyone know how this is acquired?

Holy fazoli, this thing has been in gw2db since launch and someone finally figured out how to get it?! I must know how.

Hold the presses, the first one has been bought and a second one has been listed. This almost certainly means it is NOT rare anymore, or the person who found the first one found a recipe or something for making it.

Or someone bought the first one and relisted it.

The profit is so tiny that it would hardly be worth it (20g for a 150g investment and risk being undercut). It’s possible but unlikely imo. If someone was really convinced there wouldn’t be anymore on the market they would list it for much more and make hundreds of gold, not 199g for a piddly 20g you can make in cof in a few hours. For this reason I think it is the same person listing both.

Somebody has bought it for 200g, maybe we will see a resell for 400, interesting and risky invest.

I currently hold the only Endless Multicolored Ooze Tonic there’s ever been on the TP, and may be for a long time. It’s been in the game a long time and there’s been nearly no mention of it ever, meaning it’s pretty rare. I didn’t buy it to resell, as I love collecting Tonics, but if someone would like to offer 500+g for this one I’d consider it. C:

My theory is that someone inadvertently got it through a bug or discovered a new recipe.

Regardless whether its a drop or crafted I think that buying off the TP is a huge risk. Whomever does might end up regretting it big time once the acquisition method leaks.

Perhaps the recipe is the same as that of the regular tonic with a small chance of crafting an endless version like it was with the toy tonics. I doubt there have been thousands of atempts at crafting the common tonic.

I don´t think so. Yesterday that person sold one tonic so he should have gotten enough gold to craft other, and there isn´t other at tp yet.
Therefore, I don´t think you can craft that tonic.

With about a million players in the game it’s highly unlikely no one ever dropped one before unless it’s drop rate was bugged and only recently got fixed. In which case more will be showing up on the TP soon. Unless it drops from Ooze mobs that don’t often get farmed or get skiped like the ones in AC dungeon or all the Ooze champs scattered throughout the land of Tyria.

Besides just cause he got lucky and crafted one does not mean that he will get a second one even if he ends up throwing 200g in th MF. The drop rate might be very low. As in precursor low. In which case 200g will turnout to be a bargain. Still risky though.

Can anyone ingame try and see if you can put the consumable tonic in the forge?

I bought 1 multicolored ooze tonic. Don’t seem to be able to put it in the forge

I am not so sure about that. How many times have we seen posts of people deleting something on accident and gms cannot give it back?

Doesn’t prove anything. Just some one claiming a GM accidentally gifted an otherwise unreleased endless tonic to his cousin who just started playing GW2.

Anyone care to try the normal multicolored recipe a few 100x and see what they get?

Well I agree with him that it seems pointless why he would make it up.

If I wanted to make something up, I’d make something up that I could pump and dump commodities on.

The GM mistake could have happened. I don’t know how they operate those things, but let’s assume that they have item codes for each item in game.

Let’s say his Sunrise disappeared somehow and he is allowed a replacement. The item code is 11358. He types in 11658 instead (from the keypad) That item code ends up being the endless tonic which was unreleased.

Leaving your ING is a clear indication you attempting to sell your tonic through the forum. Your also making some unfounded assumptions. No one knows how long it’s been around or how rare it really is. If you want to sell it I’d suggest you just list it on the BLTP for whatever price you think it’s worth and let the chips fall where they may.

Chances are someone wound up finding an unreleased Bazaar of the Four Winds item and has been trying to spread rumors to sell it off for a large profit before the actual release. I’m not falling for it.

My opinion, all tonics are actually quite cheap, let me explain.

Toymaker, down to 20 gold with 100+ actively listed

Dolyak, around 90g but only 14 actively listed (because it takes 4 other endless tonics to have a chance to craft this one).

Halloween 200-350g, expensive because the first endless tonics were glitched and still are, the only active ones are from post-halloween bags that are on the trading post and the chance is something absurd, like 1 in 10,000, once it’s fixed, I bet they will be worth 20 gold like the toymaker ones.

So, looking at all tonics really being cheap (dolyak isn’t cheap cause it takes 4 others, and halloween WOULD be if it wasn’t for how things went) I would assume Multicolored Ooze will be cheapish once it’s resolved on how this is truly obtained. It just popped up the other day on the trading post and two popped up on the trading post within a couple days.

I think his point was the fact he isn’t advertising it himself, the forums does that by default. Either way nothing to argue about honestly.

Because of my last post was removed, I will post other time the proof that I have one of the 2 tonics.

Soon we will know if they will be or won´t be released at next patch.

So far, nothing has been mentioned regarding new tonics or anything along the sorts, leading me to think it’s not a part of next patch. Dulfy has a huge list of what’s in it so far, and it seems the focus so far will be on weapon/armor skins.

Well for better or worse I am now the owner of one of the two tonics in existence. Can’t say my wallet is happy, but I am too crazy about tonics to let this slip through my fingers. So I am now 400g poorer and one tonic richer:

I’m not planning on selling this for anything short of something really crazy (like 2500g crazy)… so yeah. If you want the other one you should buy it.

oh well, since i’m intersted in one of this tonic, i have some question cause i find all this intriguing.

1) how come, jabberwock, that you didn’t buy the first one you saw listed and bought the 400g one?

2) why are you all saying this “i’m not going to sell it cause i’m the biggest tonic fan in the world, but give mive loads of gold and i’ll do?”

3) why does the 400g sold one doesn’t appear on gw trade?

4) how can i be sure you really sold yours robles? you all posted picture when you got/sold it, except for this 495g one.

1) I think that he didn´t buy it because all people thought that there was a new recipe so price will be lower in a few days.

2) People who buy this items like both rare items and gold, and although this item can be a very good investment, if they are released their price could drop, so maybe if they get a very good offer, they should sell.

3) If the tonic was sold very fast and I think it was, because first jabberwock spoke with the other guy, then it shouldn´t appear on gw trade.

5) Because at first I was the only person who knew there were 2 and not 1, because I bought the first. Other people thought someone had bought for 150 and resold for 200. But they were different tonics.

I think it will be hard for you to get one tonic now, unless yo pay a lot, because both people have payed 400-495g.

Robles is right on all counts. I thought it would end up cheaper but then found out its existence is likely a mistake. If I could go back I would definitely buy it at 150g lol (I nearly pulled the trigger then but unfortunately held back). But anet has shown enough disdain for tonic collectors (the account bound one in a thousand black lion chests endless mystery tonics, and the still unsellable halloween tonics) that I really don’t trust them to ever rectify this issue or release more if their existence is indeed a mistake.

I am an enormous tonic collector but everything has a price. I personally don’t think anyone can offer enough gold to make me part with it and that is just fine with me. I merely told you about the ballpark of what would make me consider selling it (and even then I would have to think it over).

And yes, the sale happened within a minute so it was too fast to be recorded by gw2spidy.

Each consumable multicolor ooze tonic costs 10s to craft, so after 4000 uses of this tonic I’ve got my money’s worth. And believe me, I use these tonics a lot so that will happen faster than you think. The feeling of losing money every time I use a consumable tonic considerably dampens the fun. Besides that it has value as a pure collector’s item.

Just an FYI – We got these tonics before this latest patch hit, and they’ve been in game for ages but haven’t been found.

The only profit here was me buying at 200 and selling at 400 :P
