Finding it really hard to make gold...
Start mining iron.
Start mining iron.
+1 for actuality.
Also start to refine Elonian Leather Squares, as long as you crafted your Spools of Thick Elonian Cord every day.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I’d be ecstatic getting 4-5 gold a day.
RIP City of Heroes
4-5g…you can easily get in 30-40 mins. Just join a party/group for karka shell farms after a karka queen event and harvest passiflora along the way. There are always 2 blooming passiflora plants near each other in Southsun and that’s 45 silver easy. Karka shells are guaranteed drops from vet karkas and sell for 7-8s per piece.
For some reason, when I post “kitten ” with no space in between, it gets replaced by “kitten” -_-
where is this kakra event?
If you did 3 dungeon paths a day, you’d make more than what you said. And it can take as little as an hour with pugs.
Be more active.

there are many way to make gold and still having fun rather than joining those kakar shell farmer.
do quick dungeon path like cof p1, AC p1p3, SE p1…….
mining iron ore right now while it was high. at Gallowfield waypoint. there is 1 rich + 6 iron node in a close area, you can get close to 1g for 5-10 min.
join LA event and sell loot while t still high.
after that you can do dynamic event….
trading post fliping also ok, but it super boring.
Can someone help me as to why I cant make gold and be wealthy? I don’t spend money on anything, I farm dungeons now and then, I WvW, I flip on the TP, I farm to craft, yet I only end up getting like 4-5 gold a day. When I flip on the TP things that haven’t sold in weeks are still there, when I do dungeons I get like one gold, when I farm to craft i get like three depending on how much stuff I do, yet I see an NPC charr betting 20 gold on a shot in Orr. Please, what am I doing wrong?
It’s very easy. Many people devote their game time to farming money and nothing else. If you play like that(I play like that), you’ll be very rich.
So start being devoted. Follow every forum guide that show you how to make money and $$$.

sshhhhhhh………. about mining…..
Archeage = Farmville with PK
There’s several ways to make good money in this game, but all of them require some time investment or extensive research.
1. Dungeon speed clears – Find a dungeon that you can complete relatively quickly and easily. Common paths include CoF P1, AC P1 or P3, TA Up etc. Experienced groups can clear these paths in 15 mins or less, and each awards 1+ gold per day.
Pros: Good payout. Get tokens as well as gold that can be exchanged for Exotic weapons that can be further salvaged for Ectos, Dark Matter and expensive inscriptions/insignias.
Cons: Unless you run with a regular group, the composition of your dungeon group can vary widely. You will also need to run “meta builds” to do these speed clears, which you may find to be unenjoyable.
2. Farming – The key here is to identify which commodities are in high demand and sell well, and then target your farming at these items. For example, Iron usually sells well (and is currently in a price spike due to the new backpiece), and there are a few locations in the world where you can find an abundance of iron ore nodes to harvest. Just visiting these locations on 3 – 4 characters can reap a huge reward. Repeat this every hour when the nodes respawn to rake in the money.
Similar methods to this involve parking level 20-30 characters at the end of jumping puzzles for the chance at a Silver Doubloon (which sells for 1g+), or farming dynamic events that spawn lots of enemies which drop the desired kind of loot. Note that the last method is subject to a mechanic called “Diminishing Returns” in which slain foes will drop less and less loot until they stop dropping it altogether, so my advice is to alternate your farming with harvesting.
Pros: Very simple way of earning money.
Cons: You will need to have multiple characters for this method to really pay off.
3. TP Trading – This method has the biggest payoffs, but also requires the most forethought and planning. You basically need to have a good understanding of the way the game works, and buy goods in anticipation of rising demand in the future. As an example, we know that Ascended Jewelcrafting is coming in the future. It would therefore be wise to buy up some stacks of things like Silver Ore and Gold Ore in preparation for when the patch hits.
There are also smaller markets within the TP where you can buy raw materials for relatively cheap and create more valuable end products for sale. However, prices are constantly changing and fluctuating, so what brings profit one day may not do so the next. You have to be constantly watching the market and adjusting your crafting/forging to compensate.
Pros: Very high potential profit. Trading can be done from anywhere in the game.
Cons: A LOT of research is required, which you may not find very enjoyable. TP trading is also fairly time consuming; it’s not unheard of for “TP barons” to spend hours just placing buy and sell orders. You may not find this to be a fun way to spend your gaming time.

OP, if you farm to craft you are effectively putting money you would have earned into that crafting skill. You are getting it cheaper, but you still have to factor it in as an expense.
WvW gives me very low returns, especially on nights I am feeling altruistic and buying upgrades.
Playing the TP works, but you have to know what you are doing, and it’s high risk for the really expensive stuff.
Farming also requires a bit of research, and possibly a friend to make it more efficient. Keep an eye out for rich iron nodes ATM.
Dungeons should be netting you about 1 1/2 gold per run. There are two end rewards, one for a gold and the other for 26 silver. There should be at least 24 silver worth of other stuff, though you may choose to salvage blues and greens for luck. I personally throw the cheap green in the Mystic forge to try and get yellows, sell the expensive ones (except greatswords, which I keep until I have 4, then throw them in the forge as they sell for over 40 silver as rares). Blues and light armour I salvage for luck and silk. Then if you know what to do you should salvage armour bought with dungeon tokens, but you can only do that every four runs or so.
If all else fails there is the Frostgorge train, but I personally can’t stomach that for more than 2 cycles.
And one final tip, before you unload always check the TP. You will occasionally be surprised at what is highly valued.

I guess 4-5 gold a day isn’t terrible if you are playing a few hours each day. If you are online all day, that does seem low. Some of your wealth is probably in your materials. If you are willing to part with them you will find gold exists there and that is part of your loot.
Put your gold to work. If it’s just sitting in your bank its not working for you. That does involve some smart decision making and understanding the market.
Others mentioned farming and I too have enjoyed learning bigger and more efficient runs across Tyria gathering materials. When I do, I always keep the World Events timer up and running and I make sure to hop over for those during my run in order to get those rares. A successful few hours of materials + rares from World Events = what, about 5-7g?
With the price of Iron right now, you can earn 1.5 gold in about 15 minutes though, you just have to know where to go and have all the WPs open.

Here is a pretty decent set of routes to run for optimal iron farming.
