that’s what I thought, but I saved them anyways. a couple map completions later, and I had a full ticket. the bottom tab of my bank is strictly for things I probably should delete but am holding onto in case they are ever valuable

Yeah I’ve never gotten a swim boost either. I’ve opened a lot too.

Devs have stated all boosters have potential to drop from the chests. this is also not the only time i have recieved 3 boosters within a chest

Only one booster per key. I’ve done a lot of key runs and never seen more than one.

The other two can be any combination of banks, merchants, scraps, tickets, unid dyes, revive orbs, repair canister, trading post, T charges and the occasion rare item such as a total makeover kit.

Worse than three Mystery Tonics?

You can use the mystery tonics for the brawl daily, or just to goof around while in a city. Both of which I’ve used them for. They might also possibly be useable in jumping puzzles to get a smaller form (Norn and Charr). So I would say 3 swim boosters are definitely worse. Not worthless, but not as good.

The free promotional item tends to not get added to the launcher news feed for at least 24 hours after the actual free item is made available. Should expect it to be available for a few days, but the actual notice won’t be posted for a little while.

“Each Black Lion Chest contains 3 lots of items. The first lot is always either a booster or, rarely, a booster multi-pack. The other two lots of items are selected at random from the other categories of drops. It is possible to receive two of the same item, including two stacks of the same item, if that item drops in stacks of more than one.”

The Black Lion Chest wiki page has not been updated to even include the Swim Speed Boost item as being acquirable from the chests, despite it having existed for quite some time in the store and available from chests.
(I’ll look to edit it in or bring it to the keepers-of-the-wiki’s attention later for addition to the list)

If 3 of the Swim Speed Boost were given from a single chest, perhaps there is a bug to where it is marked as being in the Boosters category as well as in another, non-booster category…which would lead to it being in the pool of all 3 lots of items able to be dispersed. It would then be a super coincidence for it to get chosen as the item from all three lots.

If possible, would a dev that happens past this thread please comment on if there is an issue with the classification of the the Swim Speed Boost that would cause it to be made available to be selected for dispersion in all three lots of items given from a Black Lion Chest, or if that is actually not a possible output from a chest?

From my understanding, and from the 500 or so chests my partner and I have opened, you only get 1 booster per chest. Then you get two other drops that, so far as we can tell, are rolled from the same loot table.

Personally, I have recieved two ticket scraps in one chest, and my partner has received a full ticket and a scrap in one chest, of course, along with a booster… hopefully one day we get a chest with two full tickets!

Perhaps a dev can confirm an issue with the Swim Speed booster, or can confirm the person above actually did get 3 boosters in one chest and isn’t just trolling.

Perhaps Silvercyclone can submit a bug report since it sounds like 3 boosters is not supposed to be an option.

I doubt Tyria is made of cheddar. Shows not everything in the wiki is right.

Since the moon is made of green cheese, Tyria could most certainly be made of cheddar. Wiki is correct.

Yes, you can get double items, just not boosters… unless there is a bug with the Swim Speed Boosters.

Essentially when you open a chest you get two slots that are rolled from the same loot table, so it is possible to get two of the same items (ie: I have had two ticket scraps drop from a single chest, you got a drop of 2 dyes for one slot, and a single dye for the other slot), the third drop is always a booster.

My partner and I have opened around 500 chests and thus far have never received a Swim Speed booster, nor have we ever seen more than one booster drop in a chest.
