That’s not purchasing, that’s exchanging.

I did purchase gems at the start for bank slots but didn’t receive anything yet. I guess it will get to me eventually, I hope.

All my servers transfers paid off.. i mean..

I didn’t get anything and I’ve had to get them to lift the $300 a month limit for buying gems a few months…is this not for everyone?

It’ll take them upwards of a few hours. Remember when we received those boxes for the Lost Shore compensation? Same thing.

Mine just came. Nice enough gesture, but I would have preferred they’d just sell the whole set without any RNG funny business attached.

I got the free minis… but the 800 gem sickle I bought with the gems that triggered it didn’t arrive, and yes, I had room in my mail for both…

What a rollercoaster! My inbox was full, so I thought there was a problem with my purchase. I decided to clean it out to make room and suddenly I had two sets of minis. I thought “I won some glitch lottery!” Then I read the email and realized I’d just spent gems on something I was getting for free. So I bought the risen knight and forged a colossus. That’ll cheer ya up

PROBLEM! – I got the mail about mine, but had an overflowing inbox (13/10) – and after asking about that oddity on chat, I checked my mail again, and the overflowed messages WERE GONE. Including that one. (Also purged were my “intro to Dragon Bash” automail, and the free doll from the Gem Store, which I purchased before realizing I had mail already.)

I tried zoning, AND relogging, and that message has VANISHED. So, I need to know – what support line is there for a problem like this?

Addendum: I sent a bug report to Arenanet explaining what happened, so hopefully that should resolve it. But I would still like to know if there are any better channels I can go through, in case this does not work.

i didn’t receive the free minis. I spent money for gems at launch for character slots. Inbox wasn’t full cause i got the free doll from the TP and spend a few hours winning all my Moa racing tickets. Sent in a bug report 6 hours ago and still nothing. Some people in my guild got them, some didn’t just like me. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I have bought gems with ingame gold. Before June 9th and so has my gf. No minis for us.
Must it be with real cash? If so way to mislead with the way you worded your text…..gg Anet/NCSoft.

Actually it is quite clear that it only refers to people that have bought gems with real money (or gem-card).

It is very clear.

You can acquire gems in 3 different ways in GW2.

1: You can purchase them via the gem store
2: You can buy a gem card in the real world.
3: You can TRADE in-game gold for gems.

See how two of these are purchased while one is traded?

I see where you are coming from. I don’t take trading as trading. It is still purchasing…with some form of currency.
But, that is all I needed to know. So…thank you. Just wish they could of been clearer with it. For the ones that tend to overlook the little facts and look at things differently than others.

Considering that you can buy gems with real money, for Anet, any reference to purchasing gems will always be in the context of “with real world currency” unless explicitly stating otherwise.

In game gold has zero value. It says it right in the ToS (in game gold is a digital item, so are gems). Thus it is not a currency.
