So, I was surprised to discover that the Full Makeover kit does allow a gender change but doesn’t allow a name change? This seemed like implied functionality. Is this a defect or a sham?

If this is working as intended, I would be interested to hear the justification for such a decision — why would a player want to change their gender and continue to keep the opposite gender’s name?

Ugh I really want to change my name

Yeah, I bought the kit for the sole reason of gender change, but stopped short of committal because it wouldn’t let me change my name. Please modify the kit to include a name change!

I do believe it is connected with a different thing – a name change requires shifting data within the main database as each character is identified by its unique name. Anet has to cope with that thing before they release the whole name change procedure while appearance change is not a big of a deal – you just make yourself look different. Name change is more of a unique feature and I believe when its implemented it’s gonna be a whole different service you will be able to buy from gemstore. IMO it’s unlikely that it’s gonna be contained in Makeover Kit.

Name change in GW1 is like $9.99. Get ready for some gem pain when this comes out.

I would like the makeover kits to provide a name change too.

I mean why would ArenaNet allow us to change our female characters into male characters and vice versa with no name change? It’s pretty awkward running around as a large, muscular, meathulk bald male Norn with the name, “Bubblegum Queen.”

If you look in the “upcoming changes” section of GW2wiki it says they are planning on putting in a name change option

I wish there’s a name change too.
