I see a lot of anger over the new skins because they are RNG based.

Arenanet adds (They do not currently exist) Frozen/opposite skins directly on the gem store. (No RNG)
These skins can be used to skin a weapon of your choice.
But heres the biggy-
If you don’t like the skin or you wanted the Fused version, you can take the unopened frozen weapon and use it as currency to trade it for the fused ones.
So to reiterate:
Buy skin directly off store, go to fused NPC and second tab allows you to buy a different Fused weapon instead so long as the weapon skin has not been used.
Now this works both ways.
The Fused weapon skin NPC would also allow you (3rd tab) to buy Frozen style skins with your fused ones.
So the exchange would be even, the gem cost would be even. And there is a chance that when you open a BL chest it could give you a free fused ticket, which could be used or traded for the one you want.
Now it is early in the AM for me, but this seems balanced. In all seriousness correct me if any part is flawed and I will try to correct it or discuss it.

I just think putting them directly on the store would even more annoy people who spent a ton of money on the chance. Now that such time has passed it might be too late to simply change it without making the situation worse. At least the new skins would provide some sort of softening for all those who spent money on the chance. “Oh I spent a lot on a chance and didn’t get any or only got 1. But now there are more cool skins, and I can trade them for the ones I wanted.” Might simply work out better than “Oh I spent a ton, and now they make them directly able to buy… great…”
I would also like to say maybe people should hold off a bit on buying them, because if it does change, the time between then and now will only make it worse. unless these are temporary which I’m not sure of. To go even a step farther, and this probably won’t happen. But if they did something like this AND tossed a key or a few keys to every accounts mailbox, might take away some of the pain people feel.
Only other thing I see happening is having a special deal to get them directly down the line for limited time.

I can guarantee you there’s way more people upset over spending money and getting nothing than the other way around.
I liked the idea someone had about getting a ticket for completing the Living Story story arc.
I thought about this also. It seems only sensible. Otherwise the reward for completing the arc isn’t related to the arc, despite all of the players knowing that a related reward could be available if Arenanet wanted it to be.
Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.
Is this still working? I went to a fuse vendor and there was only one tab. And I don’t see any frozen skins on the gem store
Its not an actual thing. It was just an idea the TC had, not something that actually exists.
Honestly, they can’t really do anything about the Fused skins at this point. Changing it now by putting them in the Gem Store as direct purchases (or even a roundabout “trade a direct purchase for a Fused skin” thing like this) would just royally kitten off the people who already paid money on the gambling aspect to try and get one. Whats done is done, the only thing we can hope now is that the next set of skins is sold directly.
No. As someone who spent 60$ on the chests and didn’t get a skin, I would be very upset if they added an easy way to obtain them. It is far too late for that.

I’m 99.9% sure that at this point, people would much rather spend something like $10 for a guaranteed skin, than waste another $100+ gambling and never getting one.
I also bought keys and got nothing from it i for one wont be annoyed if they sell it normally on the gem store. Its no one’s fault if you gamble with your money you knew what you were getting into. Instead of wating more money on keys id much rather buy a skin directly

If they’re going to add a way to get them easily, they need to outline that before people spend their money. “We’re going to put these tickets in the boxes, but a month down the road, we’re going to make them available for purchase for a set fee.” How many do you think would buy the boxes? I certainly wouldn’t be, but as this was advertised as the only way to obtain the item, I was willing to try. I wasn’t “in a rush” as you put it.

Might there be a mystic forge recipe with the fused scrap pieces that no one has discovered yet? The pieces seem quite rare so I was assuming there would be a way to make the new weapons.
Honestly while I do blame Arenenat for making gambling my time/money the only way to get these weapons, I also acknowledge that I chose to put my time into farming keys and buying the gems just for the chance of getting a (very awesome looking) cosmetic item for a fictional game.
If Arenanet puts them on the gem store in future, I will buy them and say no more about it, but if they do this sort of thing again in a different update then I will simply not validate it by trying to get the new items.
I’m all for making them available on TP regardless of the time that has passed, I say we give them a chance to correct this mistake but not tolerate them making it again.
