Am I the only one hoping that they add paid name changes and/or appearance changes to the Black Lion Trading Company?
I highly doubt I’m the only one that made my main in a huge hurry on head start launch night and now regret my name and appearance. I know I could just delete the character and start over but I have put too much time into her.
If the store offered these services, I would have definitely purchased them by now.
Thanks!
I love the barbershop idea! They will add it in the future, It was quite successful on GW1 afterall
They will certainly make a return – They’re included in every micro transactions system ever and Anet made quite some money with it in GW1 I guess. Considering their main income post launch-hype will be micro-transactions, it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll see those soon.

That’s what I figured! I just hope it is sooner rather than later
Paid name/gender/race readjustments for sure. This should also reset all skill points since some may be assigned to racials. Racial equipment should automatically change to race-appropriate gear.
Paid cosmetic readjustments too, simply allows you to alter the gender/race you already use, should be cheaper like $5 or maybe even less.
Would like to see more cosmetics added for a premium. Hair with streaked colors like white down the center, off center and on the sides (white can be customized, just a reference).

I don’t think race adjustments are really an option due to personal story and racial rewards…if you can’t even decide on a race at character creation…
I, as well as many others would pay for a barbershop-feature.
I would like to see an actual barbershop, located in the capitol cities, such as Divinity’s Reach; like how WoW has barbershops in Stormwind City and Orgrimmar, 1 for each faction. These barbershops allow the player to change their hairstyle, at the cost of in-game currency, and even allow changes, to styles that are not available at character creation. The changes, for the character levels of 1 and 2, are free of charge, and then start to accumulate, as the character progresses in character level.
I do like the idea of a paid name/gender change. Although, it would be impossible for a paid race change, due to personal stories, and stuff of the like. For other cosmetic changes, such as changing your face, eye color, and physique, those should be directed towards a paid cosmetic change. If you’re changing only your hairstyle and haircolor, please refer to what I described above.
A race change is absolutely no different than a WoW faction change. To say it isn’t possible is just your opinion since you don’t see it as something you want.
The barber shop is fine, however it should be limited to unlocked content, and style packages can be sold via the store to unlock more options.
To the poster making some sly comment about not knowing what race to pick initially, that holds so much more water than choosing your character’s appearance initially, right? How can you even play this game if you can’t decide how your character looks initially, right?
Yes please! Many of us have spent way to much hours on our characters so we dont want to create new ones just for some minor physical flaw on our characters.
I want make-over shop ASAP!
Actually, a race change should not be implemented. It is also not the same as WoW. In WoW, Alliance and Horde are not significantly different except for starting zones and races on each side. Your character is not really that significant to the world around them, and the story doesn’t really revolve around you.
During character creation, you choose very specific things about yourself, how you view the world, what your purpose is. To change this very thing about your character, would more or less, alter your destiny as a living thing.
I’m all for barber shops or appearance changes through the gem store, but I am pretty sure that ArenaNet will not give players the option to race change their character.
Also, you are supplied with five character slots, and given the option to buy more. I am assuming this will be for unlimited amounts as it was in the first game. You could have more than 20 slots if you wished to pay for them (I know, because I did that in the first one).
Edit: Also, to add in. When does your race change fit into the story line? Do you wait until you reach 80 and have fully completed your own personal story to not have to have any left on another race? How would you go from being a Sylvari at level 35 and then change yourself to a Norn and “continue” with the story? There is a lot to this, and the game is meant to be explored and experienced through your personal story. Your race is very important and should be chosen wisely at character creation, even if it means you read all the questions before making your character, or doing research on the wiki to see what the questions are and fit with you best.

Please add an appearance change! I would happily pay.
Race change is absolutely no different than a faction change that other game. Seriously if you don’t like it, get over it. Anet will decide or have decided, time will tell. If you have suggestions please post them, your opinion on other suggestions serves no purpose other than to make you feel good.
I don’t want to see baseball caps or sun glasses in an mmo with this type of milieu. Nor Wings. Yet I am not here to hammer on their inclustion, it’s done, I deal.

Wow…can someone translate that please…you seem angry… o.o
Ok, like others have stated above, changing race in THIS game isn’t comparable to THAT game for obvious reasons. In WoW you have generic quests that don’t matter, so switching from dwarf to human to orc to undead doesn’t really matter; it’s go kill 10 boars, etc, you don’t have a personal, custom story. In Guild Wars 2, the character creation is much more in depth and your race determines the set of choices you can make to determine how your personal story will unfold. Your story is unique to the race specific set of choices you made, complete with a custom, scripted story with cut-scenes. You can’t just stop all that at some random spot and level and switch to a completely different race with a completely different set of choices and custom story. Forgetting the technical/logistical nightmare this would create for ArenaNet, who would even want to do this anyway? By the same logic would you watch the first half of one movie, stop, pop in a completely different movie and watch only the second half of it?

barbershop is a must!! I am waiting for it too, my lovely armor set is not matching the current hair style….(as i am a newbie in GW2… didn’t touch the high-end armor set before public launch)
And the face and body details is optional for me, but it will be happiest to have it too.
I will pay for either or both with in-game currency or gem shop even real money, I don’t want to erase or retrain my 80lvl character for a hair style change
