Hi, first time user of GW 2 forums, so this has probably been posted before but:

I bought a Collection Expander for 800 gems roughly 12 hrs – 1 day prior to it going on sale (for 600 gems) and submitted a ticket. I was not granted the difference of 200 gems. As a result I will not be purchasing items from the store until they go on sale.

I’m unsure about the rate in which gem store items go on sale, however here is my suggestion: Using the only other game with an in game cash-shop I was willing to spend money on as an example (League of legends), why not adopt: the regular announcement of sales for an entire month? I understand that there needs to be a cut off somewhere, but early warning would most likely encourage more purchases and give a time frame for people to earn gems (through achievement points or gold).

You could also include the % of the sale so that players may save exact amounts.

They always have a sale on a weekend. If I’m ever planning on buying something, I ask myself when it goes out of stock (if it goes out of stock) and if I want it, need it, or really want it.

If it’s the latter two (never the need, but I include it there), I will buy it as is unless it’s Wednesday or later and the item isn’t going away until after the weekend.

If it’s the first, I’ll wait until I’m impatient or it goes on sale.

I don’t get the complaint. Has happened to me before, if I wasn’t willing to buy the item at the price I paid, even if it went on discount the next day (and it has happened to me), why did I buy it in the first place?

I would put in a ticket and try to get those 200 gems back. They are pretty good about refunds for the most part.

If you are bothered with it, you need to patient and wait for sale.

I don’t see anything Anet did wrong, except treat it like a business.

Just follow these two simple rules of mine and you, too, will avoid all issues here:

• Never buy anything from the gem store that isn’t on sale
• Always have gems ready

Now, ANet, how about putting Zodiac armor on sale, eh?
