First off I want to say I dont agree with the gem store, but accepted it as its a necessary evil that will bring all of us benefits to the game. So… where are they? The benefits?

You don’t have to spend a cent in the gem store to enjoy the game.

Continued funding for the game?

A product that doesn’t generate revenue gets scrapped.

So we let cheaters into the game and we get nothing for it? Good deal. Why would anyone want to play a game that lets people cheat to get ahead?

Are you asking where are the worthy benefits like costumes, or what.. confused by your 2nd post.

Obviously a game needs to be funded, GW2 isn’t pay to play, you can’t be that oblivious..

The benefits in the store are hardly cheating, and not even that good, at all. At least not for the price ~_~

Yeah so far the gem store is pretty meh.

I actually WANT to spend money on the game, I just haven’t found anything in the gem store worth buying outside of BLK’s on occasion.

benefits? there aren’t any… it’s just a place i go with my converted currency to buy the things that i cannot get anywhere else (IE: transmutation stones, bank space and cosmetic changes).

10$ for 800 gems. noty.

I’m sorry, but what benefits do you expect? If they put important, game changing stuff in the store, things would be WORSE, and all the pay to win debate will restart.

If they put ultra cool skins, with effects on par with legendaries, then people will object that those items have been cut from the game in order for anet to make money.

You should be happy with what the store sells right now, and hope anet keeps in line with the current trend

Honestly something I think would be awesome would be the ability to change our spell effects. Like having mesmer spells be blue or red instead of purple. I’d pay for that in a heartbeat.

you’re right, but they could buff stuff like the rewards from lion chests (does anyone actually buy these things?). i don’t have a problem with the character change, mini and server transfer stuff though.

i would love to see them add skins providing they are not town clothes. nobody got time for townclothes when you can’t set them to go on when you enter a town automatically.

And for most of us … very cheaply because “some other person is paying more”.

It is a method available to turn your IRL time/wealth into in game wealth – essentially the off switch for grind mode.

Apparently the correct term for a player who doesn’t pay is “user generated content”, my term for someone who isn’t paying to use a service is “Cyclist”… oh wait… no that was on the way to work…

fyi…part of the game function isnt considered cheating _ gem store is part of the game. and there is no benefits besides getting stuff much faster compared to if you were to farm it in game.
also you can buy gems with ingame gold and still get the same stuff as someone that would use a creditcard. dont really see wut the big deal is to make a thread about it lol
