Since launch the gem store has had a fair amount of items worth buying. However, I feel the gem store is loosing its touch and can be more successful then it is right now. With the recent items released I feel the new items are nice but really not worth buying (hoodie for example). To make people purchase new gem store items I think it would be nice to see a new style of epic armor skins. The first sets were pretty awesome (except light skin >.>) and I feel we are ready for more. As far as hair and makeover kits go, a in game barber shop to view these things would be awesome. Instead, players could go into these barber shops and view new character/hair styles first hand. This would create more of an incentive to purchase these cosmetics for gems.

Here’s my theory. I think ANet is trying to deviate away from Armor skins in the BLTC. I believe they’re making a lot of new Armor skins and will eventually inject them in the game by drops, RNG, recipes, etc. This would give people something to work for (or grind for) and keep the community busy.

I think BLTC will sell primarily Towns Clothes from now on (again, just a theory). If they release good looking Towns Clothes and Town Items (the broom, boxing gloves, etc), people will buy it for looks and for fun. I already bought the Chef outfit and the Top Hat purely out of looks and fun.

They could enhance this and give a better experience for players. They could add a Towns Clothes collection tab, similar to the mini-pets collection. Since you bought the Towns Clothes for money, you don’t want them to clutter up your bank slots, which costs money if you want to add more bank slots.
