ANet has no control over the gem market, it’s completely player driven.

As more players buy gems with gold, the higher the price goes. Only way it goes down is when players buy gold with gems.

Saying this is very near-sighted.
“Every time someone uses your or you’re wrong, I kill a kitten! But I have no control over this, the lives of the kittens are entirely in your hands!”
See how that doesn’t work?
ANet set up an automated system that sets the price based on two player activities, buying gems with gold, buying gold with gems. It’s simple, it’s straightforward and ANet doesn’t interfere with it. Therefore only our actions dictate the direction prices go.

If your gonna kill a kitten every time your seeing you’re used wrongly in a sentence your gonna have lots of dead kittens on you’re hands. Best to just ignore the poor spelling and grammar unless your sure you have the stomach for so many dead kittens in you’re living room.
Gem prices have not changed. It’s still $10 for 800 gems. Been the same since launch.
The trading of gold to gems between players is directly affected by how much gold is in the game. As more gold is in the game now since launch, that trade will be higher.

Yup, if you want gems, pay money.
No one remember when ANet have said that if it was necessary they would balance the gem/gold market. So yes, they can interfer.
I remember this clearly when I was playing the BWE´s and we had a lot of QA back there. I was 9 months or so without playing GW2 so I don´t know if they changed what they have said.
No I don’t remember that and if they did say it then “if it was necessary” hadn’t happen yet.
