I still don’t see how they can justify charging 500 gems for that mask (or the other two that preceded it). They’re nice skins, but not that nice.

I think 500 gems is reasonable for it now that it is no longer a one time use skin. Once the wardrobe goes into effect we can apply them as many times as we like to multiple characters.

I bought one, but it’s a shame that I can’t even look at it on my characters due to these stupid bobble-heads that cannot be turned off. Thanks for the disrespect, ANet.

I wish the mask had its own full armor to go with it.. I really like it but I dunno what set I’d pair it with for my mesmer + dwayna’s backpiece.

For the tattoos at least, you can open up a texture editor and make your own. This is something they were okay with in Gw1 (they won’t confirm anything for Gw2). Considering you can retexture any existing item and that the “face paint” model already existed, the tattoos really aren’t worth the cost.

Mask is nice, but overpriced. I was hoping we were at least back down to 400 gems for individual items after Scarlet’s armor pieces, but apparently not entirely… not that 400 gems isn’t still overpriced, but its less so at least. Still, given how neat it is I fully expect people to buy it. People love glowy particle effects.

Finisher is funny. Minstrel-in-a-box.

Backpack… ugh. I get that quaggans are a “thing” and all, but do we really need this many of them? There’s what, like 5 quaggan backpieces now? Seems a bit excessive.

let’s go half way, 250 gems for all the tattoos.
it’s nice that they add stuff like this but a scar and a tattoo were in GW1 from day one, all they do now is cash in on skins that should’ve bin in-game from point one.

Just so people know, the mask does have an odd issue of being able to see the eyes blink behind the glow. It’s glow is not done the same as the necromancer’s mask many people have used. So be advised before you purchase. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing and it gets fixed to where the glow works correctly.

Pause it at exactly 0:15, you’ll note her eyes are completely closed, and the half second before hand you see her shut them.

Note you never see the red spark dim or go away briefly when she is closing her eyes. You can see she is closing her eyes, thus it looks strange, I’ve put it in the bug forums in case its just a bug as well.

From a far view admittedly it’s not that noticeable, but on the hero tab it stands out too. Compare it to the glowing eyed necromancer mask and the difference is quite large. Given that its a gem store item, it seems corners got cut that shouldn’t have been.

TL:DR The necromancer mask is a blue version with out the tatoo and was done right, it works for every race, every size and all eye angles. This mask, should be no different in that regard to attention to detail.

*Edit, make sure you see no haze when watching the vid, as its a HD vid, if it seems hazy or out of focus it hasn’t loaded entirely. The character and the chat box text should be as clear as what you see when you play the game.

I love that Minstrel finisher, someone had it in WvW this morning and I loved it…I actually thought it was a lootable chest at first, and in the chaos of WvW combat was trying to loot it and wondering why my loot key was not working!

But 800 gems, why so expensive?

If it had been 400-500 gems would not of been able to resist it.

Just after hope its in a sale, sometime in the future…

Yeah, same here. I generally want to spend about 10-15€ per month of active playing on GW2, since that’s about the same amount I’d pay for a game with a sub fee. The pricier the things are, the fewer items I’m able to buy. (Especially since a lot of that money already goes into buying new character slots, I’m an altoholic And some things I just can’t pass on, like adorable special minis.)

The official page also lists a “Identity Repair Kit” combining name change and total makeover kit, but I cannot find any info about that. Was it not added after all?

It’s there under Promotions still, as well as on the Services tab for 1,000 gems.

350 gems – Total Makeover Kit
800 gems – Name Change Contract
1,150 gems purchasing individually

or

1,000 gems for the Identity Repair Kit

So you save 150 gems by buying this combo instead of individually.

I love the mask. Just wish you could dye it Same with all the glowy armour, like the radiant. Would have been awesome if you could change the colour of the glow. I do hope it will be added in the future…
