Why are rare weapons like “Greatsword”, “Short bow”, “Longbow” etc. much more expesive than other rare weapons?

If i look into Trading post, search “Greatsword” , rare quality i get: one seller – 14g and several buyers around 2g a piece, what’s up with that? And it is same with there generic name rare quality weapons.

Because people buy those rares to attempt to forge a precursor a la mystic toilet.

Dawn. Dusk, Leaf of Kudzu, and Colossus, are some of the most sought precursors- and so have the msot expensive exotics and rares.

Supply and demand. The more people that want it, the higher the price is so that sellers can earn a buck. The more useful or rare it is, the better.

They’re “unique” rares because they don’t have a prefix denoting their stats (soldiers, wayfarers, rabid, magi) and use a basic skin. They likely came from the mystic toilet. Some people just like to collect stuff, but they really don’t have value to most players.

There is a secret to them , however i shall not reveal it.
