Can I buy gems with gold, and give the gems to somebody through the mail?

It would be nice to be be able to mail gems. Want to give them as a gift.

While it is a great idea its also very helpful to botters and gold sellers.
Farm for gold > transfer gold to gems > gift gems to go undetected as a gold seller.
I can see why this feature is not in the game.

True, I didn’t think of that.

Anet already said that most of their bot detection comes from data mining and algorithmically recognizing patterns of behavior. This would not help botters much at all. Commercial levels of gem gifting would actually help to expose them.
