Just a re-colored version of the Glowing Crimson Mask…… Really? I understand that you need to make money but would have been more considerate towards the players if you had just made a general version that was dye-able?

Yes, it looked familiar to me too lol. Hoped for somekind of a Cthulhu face, but its only some green eye thingy… Pffft.

I personally like the green eyes myself as I thought it would be perfect for my Necromancer. Though I do agree with you that selling a recolored version is a bit petty. They’d at least either sell it for a bit less than the original price, but I’d think that’d apply if there are more options to choose.

Same situation as for non-dyable weapons. Why give us a cool feature that would allow us to feel less sick to see the same identical weapons everywhere on anyone, when they could recycle a design, splash some green/blue/pink + mini random effect on them and re-offer them to us as if they were brand new sets of skins? I find this sad beyond belief, and the fact they are starting to do the same with these masks is even sadder. As it was said, it should have been dyeable since the start, and today they should have added a completely new, different skin. But this way it’s sure more comfortable and fitting for a lazy design.

I’d like this to be dye-able too, but is there anything on which the particle effects are dye-able? I can’t think of an item where you can actually change the particle effect color. Even on things you can change the color of the base item, the effects stay the same.

If changing particle effects via a dye is doable, then they could also sell items that allowed you to change the color effect of skills (or allow dyes to do so), so a red-and-black clothed thief could have black or red, rather than blue, skill effects.

Complain cause there was only a red one and we want other colors, they give us another color and we complain cause it’s recycled… wtf people… Oh and yeah, we want to dye it but the ‘technology’ to do it doesn’t exist yet for Anet so you wont get it until 2016.

In 6 more months the blue one will come out and gem prices will go through the roof cause that’s the color we actually want. They probably already have a dozen colors just sitting there waiting to be released (can’t imagine it actually taking more than a few minutes to copy/paste, change item id and name and change the color code).

It’s almost as if there are many different people, with many different opinions, who play this game. Imagine that!

I wasn’t interested in the red one at all when I saw it wasn’t dye-able, and I’m not sure what the general consensus was on the forums, but among friends it seemed that none of us cared much for a single-color thing.

Personally, I’ve never complained that it wasn’t the color I wanted… I’ve hoped for a color-able version.

Personally, I’m quite happy with the new green one and I do not mind individual colors being sold one bit.

Actually, I’d prefer it if they’d throw blue, purple, yellow and orange glowing masks into the gem store right this minute so my other characters can get their matching colors!

I think The Riven is finally nearing completion thanks to this new green one.

They could easily make effects dyeable if they wanted. If you are poisoned or use a hylek color potion, the effects of for example radiant armor get colored too.
