But all joking aside, did anyone else just see the massive Karka Shell pump and dump, people were buying Karka Shells at 3.5-4s+ so fast you could hardly keep up track. There were others selling them at 2s 40c so fast you couldn’t keep up with it.

There was literally so much flipping going on that thousands of gold must have been made in seconds.

So much money… so much.

i only see dump, nothing pump here.
with no salvage, no mystic forge, skin is suck. stast is suck. i rather use that 2g to buy exotic on TP.

No you’re missing my point. Right as the new Karka Queen event went live, there was a spike in Karka Shell prices… 1-2s might not seem like much. But multiply that by 1,000s upon 1,000s of Karka Shells being traded. The demand suddenly spiked and the sellers were dumping them.

It kept going from 3s-4s (sell orders) in an insanely fast cycle. And the buy orders, for 2s 40c, were being filled by the 1,000-3,000 at a time in seconds. People were filling the buy Orders so fast, that if you dumped them as Sell Orders (for 3-4s) people would buy them up from you as fast as you could put in Buy Orders for 2s 40c.

For a good ten minutes, there was no waiting between buying at 2s 40c and selling at 3.8-4s each.

Let’s say you wanted a profit of 1s per shell
One person would have to have 100,000 shells to get that 1000 gold.

I’m figuring people didn’t do this to profit toooo much. Just to clear out their banks and recoup any gold they can

It’s called Speculation. If new Karka armor comes out that requires lots of shells (and end up being in high demand), people will profit. If not, people will lose a lot of money.

Some speculators with tunnelvision thought the new weapons/armor that cost karka shells would cause them to go up in price. They forgot to consider the masses of people participating in all the new karka slaying events who began dumping all the shells they found. So for a brief time low buy orders were being filled (by event participants) at the same time speculators were buying high sell listings.

Missed all of it due to being in bed. Ah well. My spare stack of Karka Shells can just be used for an Infusion one day.

I didnt buy one because if 10000people do the same, market goes crazy…like yesterday…

however I do believe they increase in the future…karka are still aannoying to kill…but the supply after 4 weeks of farm will be very huge…

I bought some passion flowers as I expect some WvW players to buy the 150 thoughness poiton and bought my blood for gift of fortune because I expect t6 blood to rise
