The fine crafting materials for t3 seem to be crashing in value very fast tonight. Has anyone seen active bots in that tier?

I have purchased a ton of these tonight, and am not trying to inflate the value, I’m going to keep buying because they are basically lower than they have been since early december/late november. I’m just wondering why they are falling so rapidly

Everyone has their crafts maxed which means these mats don’t serve a purpose anymore.

I don’t really believe that…people still make alts, and crafting is a viable way of leveling.
Plus those players who got GW2 for christmas. Plus the people crafting equipment for their alts.

That’s what will decide the value of those items on the very long term. But consider the following:
- once you have master crafter, the only reason to double up crafts is to power level
- once you have 8 characters on lvl 80, there is absolutely no reason to craft tier 3 at all
Which means only new players require these tokens. There’s more old players who will dump them for quick cash than new players buying them to level crafts.

Long story short, the long term price will primarily be determined by the amount of people staying in the game stuck at max crafts.

Thing is, given the current state of the game world, which level 80s are farming T3 materials? People going for world completion? Given that logs’ only function involves them being permanently destroyed, it seems odd that there’d be an over-abundance. This is especially true given that power-levelling is so popular, and can be done eight times per character.

Additionally, there are other reasons to keep levelling crafting after getting master crafter. Why would you want your level 80s tied up by a crafting bench with crafting components when you can just permanently park an alt there?

I could well be wrong, but I think botting is still a problem. If nothing else but to explain why armoured scales are sitting so low even after the barracuda adds patch.

Ugh don’t get me started on Armored Scales! Long term investment indeed.

It looks like Bones are starting to recover, but Scales are still doing poorly. It is actually very interesting to watch the prices for T3 components.

I have to disagree on this. I make gold off the TP from crafting at every tier. I do T2-T5 the most. T1 and T6 just don’t have as high profit margin.

Indeed, I made my first money crafting T3 rares and selling them. Maybe that is why I’m familiar with the T3 fine market.

If the “leverlers are leaving” argument holds true, perhaps crafting can actually be profitable for those who enjoy crafting for its own sake?

That would be awesome. I’d love to craft for a profit.

T3 mats are very easily farmed in Harathi Hinterlands. I do it regularly to get enough t3 to make t4 and so on in the forge. So those that don’t farm them for that reason are adding them to the market.

Could be a drop in demand, according to statistics I’ve bee reading there’s been a sharp drop in players recently – which I can attest to, I’ve given up and moved on (as have most my guild) I was just poking my head in to see whether they’re going to cut mesmer’s a break or keep on with the ole’ nerfbat.
