I saw the patch news about the Perm hair kit, something I’ve been after for a while. So after I patched I ran to try my luck at opening chests. Towards me finishing with my keys I was informed that the gem store has not been updated with any of the new items, and it makes me wonder does that mean the Chests have not been updated either with the chance at the Perm hair kit? cause if this is so that’s really screwy that you say its there when it isn’t. Does anyone know about this? Cause I want to know so if they wern’t updated I can ask for a refund on those keys cause I wouldn’t have spent them unless I was guaranteed a chance at the perm hair kit

Even if I don’t get a refund, I don’t want to buy more keys and use them unless I know that its actually a chance in the chest.

I would assume that the gem store page itself has nothing to do with the actual loot tables of the black lion chests so by that logic the moment your client has updated to a new build you had the “new” black lion chests which included the permanent hair stylist contract in its loot table.

However do note that if the item has similar drop rate compared to the other contract items which also drop from the black lion chests, then the drop rates are incredibly low (like 1% chance or something like that, don’t know the numbers but I’m trying to say that the chances are very low).

I checked the trading post for this item and few buy orders have either been deleted (by the players) or they have been filled which would most likely mean that the item has already dropped to few people.

I noticed the same myself, so going to cross my fingers and keep trying. I just didn’t want to have thrown a ton of keys at nothing. Thanks for your response

I hope so because if not I just wasted 10 keys. ;~; Though, the keys are the part that’s in the gem store, not the chests, so.

Does the phrase “rarer than hens teeth” have any meaning to you all? And you thought tickets are rare.

The chests are not gem store items. The gem store itself “lags” because the gems store is a separate thing, its not technically part of the actual game. The game accesses an outside server when you use the Gem Store, which is why sometimes you get an error where the game can’t load the gemstore and you need to restart to fix it.

Since the chests themselves aren’t part of the gem store, they should be updated immediately when the patch goes live.

The Monkey Tonic is already in, so chances are the chests have indeed been updated. It’s just very, very, VERY rare.
