Guild Wars 2

Hello guys I am totally new to the MMO scene and rather enjoying Guild Wars 2. I am only level 6 at this point. I have been wondering what is the best way to make steady gold. I have the mining tools and looking to find some spots and sell that kind of gear on. I do not mind taking my time at it as I want to the best experience I can from the game.

Also are gems important. Do you need to buy them. Can you earn them in game.

You can buy gems with gold ingame. You don’t need them- expect if you want more bank tabs or the last inventory slot. The rest is mostly cosmetics.

The best way to earn money is to play the TP (trade post). If you don’t have any experience or don’t like playing markets/economies there are certain dungeon runs in the higher levels that reward a good amount of money.

In general I wouldn’t spend too much time bothering your finances on your first play through- enjoy the leveling experience, complete the zones (you get level appropriate rewards for those) and collect everything you see on your way to 80.
Even at 80 a full set of exotics is not very expensive.

If your only level 6 just enjoy the game and do quests/events, just get used to the game

Did have a hard time choosing my starting character and what job he was. Son settle on that. I just feel to really experience the whole game you have to play the TP as well. I am keeping an eye on what materials are selling well. May spend a few hours collecting. Just any advice is welcome.

Tip:dont craft anything.Crafting is massive gold sink-you can make much more money by selling all the mats you find (also you cant really make any money with crafting at max lvl anyway)

Yes please enjoy the game lol……I made that mistake with my Thief which is only 45. I would think man how will I get this exotic/rare gear and come to find out so far it has not been that expensive but what I did up to lvl 40 was just wear dropped gear and bank most of my gold for the rares but as I said they not to pricey so far cause im lv 45 so cant speak for lv 80 exotic/rares

just don’t try to do a Legendary until something changed on the precursors. I made that mistake and I’m trying to get one since 2 months, but I can’t catch up with the price → no fun any more.
As the others say, enjoy leveling to lvl 80. Try out the dungeons, World versus World and the PvP. There is much to experience.
And as long as you don’t want a legendary you really don’t need to make huge amounts of money with the trading post.
So just enjoy the game !!!

If you sell everything you gather and salvage all the drops you don’t need (vendor green items) then sell those too, you will have plenty of money for things like WP, armor repair, and training manuals. Wait till you’re 70+ to start focusing on earning money. That’s when you can start to get the good stuff like rare items, common dungeon runs, ectos, etc.

I suggest getting to lvl 80 first and then start with dungeons, shelt/pen farms, and then when you are bored of that, go play the TP.

Er. I wouldn’t suggest playing the TP right away. You won’t have the capital to make significant returns. Just play the game first.

Idk i play a little in cursed shore doin the Penitent wp, Shelter wp, Jofast wp events and Plinx event and sell all rares and crafting materials at TP … is good money for me 3g+ per hour. But that is at lvl 80 with 105% magic find (rare armor, green jewelry and pirate rune)
