I was just seeing the Heroic edition on the homepage and then I checked to see if an upgrade was offered in the Gem Store. I couldn’t find it, but I saw that the digital deluxe edition includes the new hero edition. I also thought that if there as a sale it should also apply to the digital deluxe edition in the Gem Store. I don’t think I’ll ever get the digital deluxe edition, but the heroic edition, if it is on sale might interest me.

There’s no option to upgrade to the “Heroic” edition because it gives you the following items in the Heroic Chest that is mailed to you:

1 Suit of Legacy Armor
1 18-slot Mithril Box
10 Experience Boosters

“Legacy Armor” in this case means your choice of Krytan, Primeval, or Profane armor, each of which is available already in the gem store. XP boosters, likewise, are available in the store. The Mithril Box isn’t, but it’s easily craftable, or able to be purchased on the trading post for fairly cheap.

Basically, there’s just no need to upgrade to it, since there isn’t anything exclusive to it. If something in it catches your eye, you can just buy that thing directly, instead of getting it all in a bundle. I suppose a bundle could potentially be cheaper, but I expect it just didn’t seem worth fooling with to offer in the store.

That seems a bit like waiting for a price drop in a game, and then asking if you can price-match to get a refund against your purchase price. Whether it’s through adding new content, lowering prices, or both, a year-old game wants to drum up new sales somehow.

Actually hard to tell (well for the sake of the argument). There were plenty of people who were mad and demanding to get the Heroic items for free (even if they pre-ordered the game). And a similar posts has popped up maybe every month or two since.

I didn’t think you were, but I’ve spent far too much time on this forum in the past week to take any chances. You’d be amazed at the things I’ve seen.
