Anyone see this? the level 70+ white axes are all above 1 silver, and some of them are 9s and 15s. If it was a yellow fine, but it makes no sense on a white item.

some of them sell for like 1g too…. go figure

Take a look at the buy orders. No one is actually buying those axes because there is NO demand for white level 80 weapons. When something worthless is listed at a low volume with an exorbitant price you can bet that there is no actual market and that there is no movement of those items.
Use your brain mate.

Theres not huge movement but they do sell. I sell them all the time and have sold a few.

Mind you, I may only sell 2 to 3 a week. but they do sell along with other white high level basics.

Only thing I can think of is that bots are programmed to buy them because logic dictates that they are the cheapest high level weapons you can buy. So possibly lots of bots are buying them up, and since there is not much supply, we are starting to see the really high-priced sell orders. If one genuinely wanted a high-level white item, there are lots of vendors that sell them for around 5s I believe.

Also is may be a bot system’s way of working around limits to gold transfers. Perhaps they are coded to buy items from each other (based on price and time of listing) in order to transfer gold without being tracked as easily, or limited by mail restrictions.

White items sell because people want to max the agent of entropy title. Some might buy large quantities of white items right away instead of placing a buy order. By doing so they run the risk of buying crap a list vendor prices without even noticing it and by the time they do it’s to late. This is the modern day trading post scammers way of making money. List something for way more then it’s worth and wait until some idiot buys it.

And this whole time I was blindly salvaging all white weapons..

People also buy them to transmute skins to other characters on their account because they wont soulbind on transmutation

In fractals there are weapons dropping with the very simple name “axe”, “sword”, “scepter”. Some people like them for the short name, don’t ask me why but that’s why those whites sell and not weapons with more complex names.

Oh yeah, and crystalline dust too. And I believe there’s a rare chance to get precursors off them if you drop them in the forge. Particularly, hang on…. (placing buy order)…. White level 64 shields.
