Home instance portal stone.
No, 900 gems is a very fair price considering you… can’t use it in WvW, Dungeons, Instances and also get stiffed depending on what Race you’ve picked!
Oh wait…
not worth the money
atm 900 gems is 112g
i have to pay 3s to port to the wp in front of my homeinstance
thats 3696 teleports before its worth the money
when i think i was per character 1-3x in last 2 years in this useless homeinstance than no, its not worth and just a waste of money
And … how is this thing better thkittening the WvWvW button to pop into the edge of the mist, talk to a vendor/do repairs/ and then return to where you started from?
I thought it was literally a waypoint inside your home instance that could be used outside for free and would then let you go back to where you were.
Would make my daily gathering a lot faster because I wouldn’t need to load 4 times to get back to where I am. I don’t really care about the gold cost, either. Too bad I’m not getting it, I already destroy my HoM Portal Stones because I can get them for free.
Something which should’ve been an innate feature in the first place, was instead put as a 900 gems rippoff, and people are actually buying it… GG.
ArenaNet’s monetization team make great businessmen.
It sounds like a cheaper variant of the airship or pavilion pass except dumping you in your race’s home city with it’s free way points to most player services. The return option is kind of odd considering from the description you lose the ability to go back to where you were if you manually leave your instance. There is very little in your home instance in terms of services so why give it a PvP like return function?

I could see them selling this thing if they had already sold support NPCs such as a Banker, merchants, trading posts, crating tables, etc… It rather seems odd to sell this without a real use for going to that area. If it’s just for nodes, it’s a really minor convenience. If I just want to afk in a combat free area there is PvP, WvW and the HoM; which are all free.

I thought I saw where someone said trying to leave the home instance teleports them back to where they were, so there’s not even that.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

On what grounds do you claim that it should have been a feature in the first place? It was never promised to you and was not in the game. Is the price steep? Yes. Is the functionality deficient? Yes. Are you owed every new feature at no cost? No.

In which case it’s totally pointless unless they are looking at gem store items to add services to you home instance and this is the first step.

At the rate of 800-900 gems per upgrade, it’ll only cost $100 to have a useful Home Instance!
