The drop rate is too low. I would like to purchase immobulus, but the current sell price is comparable with precursors. This weapon is a craftable exotic, yet it is hundreds of gold more expensive than other mystic toilet-craftable exotics. I wouldn’t mind paying a reasonable price for this item, but I don’t want to pay 1,390g when this issue has been brought up many times and needs to be addressed.

Please pass this information along to whomever can correct this issue. Please.

expensive item that looks good is expensive… basically, yeah the drop rate is ridiculous but the market is working as intended. it would be weird for it to be like 30g. so dont bank on anet changing the drops just because 1390g is out of your price range. if you really want it, youll find a way to get it.

lets see… this thread has happened before… i think the best idea i saw in that other one was to add giant eyes to the drop tables for (undead) giants and the uh weird undead eye champs.

I don’t think it helps that less people is going to orr.

The new maps are taking some of the people who used to farm in orr.

There needs to be an understanding of rewards of the micro scale and how the macro doctrine ties into it. We don’t really have that in this game though. So it would seem we are sol.

It’s meant to be a difficult-to-obtain item. I wouldn’t mind if they added Giant Eyes to containers other than Heavy Moldy Bags, but I don’t think they need to.

The OP writes, “this problem needs to be addressed,” but I don’t see a problem in an exotic being that expensive. People want it for its rarity and its skin, not for its stats.

Easy solution: Make the legendary sand giant in dry top give one giant eye per kill. Would encourage more people to kill him, on most maps he is getting skipped.

A guaranteed Giant Eye per kill might be a bit much. With an average of 60+ players for a successful kill, that’s 60 Giant Eyes being created every hour.

Something like a 10 – 20% chance might be more appropriate.

Like it’s been said, putting giants eyes as a not “extremely” rare but obtainable drop for undead giants, any other giants (even the new sand giant) including low lvl zone giants, and the eyes of Zhaitan in Orr as well.

Personally I don’t think the fact that there are some extremely expensive items with only cosmetics to set it apart. In fact I think it’s a good thing.

The worry for me is that with only 550 on the TP the price can be artificially inflated by someone with only a few thousand gold.

Usually when people try to do that, folks who have been holding them in storage for no reason come out of the woodwork to sell. The price spikes briefly but then drops quickly too, sometimes below the old equilibrium. Some people make out like bandits when that happens, but often it’s not the would-be monopolist. Instead, it’s hoarders and a few very flippers (who are very clever or very lucky or both). Or put another way, if it was that easy to permanently corner the market in a commodity, it would already have happened.

I tired to place buy order on Giant eye. It is one of the most annoying thing to buy. Unless you check TP every few minutes, you will never be able to buy any, because there will always be people over bidding you by 1 copper. Unless of course I raise the buy offer by a large volumn.

I remember when I got my own Immobulus.
It was way back in the days (this summer probably, just before the price rise)
I put buy orders on a stack at around 1,5-2g, took ages to fill. Kept overbidding.
I got mad and bought almost everything on sell orders, pushing the price over 4g.

Then I realized after a bit of math that between the few hundreds I got on b/o and the two stacks from insta-buying, I made profits on selling around the 4-5g mark.

I then sold them over a few months, 10 at a time while insta-buying an old immobulus listed at 800g.

Just grind the gold and buy it/buy eyes tbh. It’s quite ok.
