Contains one random armor dye from a pool of 25 colors, including six exclusive new color.

Means when I open up one, I will get one out of the 25 palette.

Minus 6 exclusive new (which I supposed are those 6 enamel dyes) means 19 random in the pool.

I suppose those 19 can will be anything from rare to master to fine which are all pre-selected already.

Am I getting this right?

How do we know what are the 19 colors?

I open up 5 and got 3 fine, 2 master. Not even a rare. Did I got unlucky and hit 5 of the 19?

Or it can be ANY colors from the 400+ colors?

The dye kits are a huge rip-off.

I honestly would not even bother with them unless you’re willing to buy five or more. Seems like you got pretty unlucky with yours.

Sounds like you got 5 of the 19.

If you go to the Black Lion market screen and search for “dye”, and then double click price to show you the most expensive ones, you’ll see a lot of them from the former packs. You’ll notice they’re all rare, and they have a blue/red background to the bottle. I would assume the same holds for the new dyes. If you don’t see that background on them, they’re just old dyes that are in dye pack.

[Edit] Doing a search for “enameled dye” confirmed it, the new ones have the same look and background for the dye bottle.

The dye kits are a huge ripoff.

19 of the 25 exist already and, prior to today’s market manipulation, sell for a few silver. In addition the drops are weighted so that you are more likely o get blue dyes than yellow dyes. Drop chance for the rare unique dyes appears to be one in 10.

Converting the gems to gold for one dye pack gets you 18 gold.

Meanwhile, some of the unique dyes from the last set to sell still haven’t topped 17 gold, even with today’s dye buying binge.

Plus the new dyes don’t appear to be that new either. The red one is a carbon copy of wrath dye. Look at the others first before buying.

Or, sometimes you win big but usually you don’t.

So… of the 19 “old dyes”, in this set, one of them is Abyss.

I opened 25 dyes today. Got 4 bottles of the new colors, and 3 other rares. 2 Abyss and a Spearmint.
