So gold to gem prices go down, been waiting for a month to convert, but it just getting higher and higher.

I dont think they will, so they can keep the prices high.

Then why are you waiting if they are just going up?

The new items that went up on the market today is keeping the rate fairly level against players buying gems to sell for gold. But I expect we should see a few large spikes down over the next few days because 5.3g per dollar is a pretty advantageous rate.

Anet doesn’t care what the gems to gold conversion rate is, at least not as much as their sales are so …

No they do. A look of what items and when they went on sale indicates that they wanted to prevent a series of massive upticks. There was usually a several day cooldown between each popular item.

I think they are starting to see more cash to gold buyers as the exchange rate creeps above 6.5-6.75g for 100 gems.
