So in their infinite wisdom and unbridled greed they decided to introduce an exotic mini that can only be attained by placing a mini pack plus a mini that can only be gotten through RNG means into the mystic forge.

I decided never to invest money in RNG junk a long time ago. So, I have made up my mind. If there is no guarantee of ever getting a risen mini from the rng boxes to complete the set of 4 I won’t buy any off them. Not even the mini pack.

umm.. I’m not sure now cause I’m at work.. but when I left the risen mini thats combined with those 3 was like 4g… hardly anything to be worried over

I knew I made the right decision when I chose not to collect minis in this game. (I was a huge pet collector in both WoW and Rift.) Every event just solidifies that I made the right choice. I’ve saved myself a lot of money and frustration.

Well there goes your argument right there. Buy it from the TP or don’t get the mini, what is the problem here?

The colossus was like the easiest exotic to get. I accidentally purchased the mini set because I didn’t know I was getting one free for my earlier gem purchase, so I decided to price the fourth mini at the auction to see if I could use the forge. Turns out the risen knight was just under 2 gold so I bought 2 of them, one to forge for the colossus and one to keep. Made me feel less crappy for buying something I was already getting for free. Don’t forget to keep those inboxes clean!

I must admit I was mistaken. The risen mini is not account bound and can be purchased from the TP.

I also was surprised by receiving a mini crate from Anet as a thank you gift for previous purchases in the gemstore.

I feel quite stupid right now but wont edit my post because i desirve it.

To be fair, it was an easy conclusion to draw. But yeah, respect for owning up to it!

Wow, kudos to OP – I agree the internet just broke.

Also, don’t worry OP, you’re technically correct, just not about this patch. I’m a collector and last Wintersday saw Foostivoo. Same scenario: combine any 3, so you need to get 3 extra if you want them all. And they were very low drop from gem lockboxes. Very, very bad, literally felt sick to my stomach. I don’t like gambling.

The colossus isn’t the easiest. The reef rider claims that (dis)honor.
