I was going to buy gems but...
I just feel like my revolutionary MMORPG that I bought before it was released last August has changed it’s toon so dramatically lately.
I do not want to see more one day events or one day sales.

I do not want to see more one day / limited time events or offerings.
Because Wintersday and Halloween were both one day events where you HAD to login to get your special items, like in GW1.
Oh wait, no, they have a week and a half where you can redeem the special items.

yup
Did you like the one day lost shores event? Anet said they made a mistake with it and they made other mistakes. So you’re defending Anet when they admitted that they were wrong? You think the errors that Anet said they were sorry for making are okay?
Anet isn’t even saying that what they have done was the best choice in many situations. And even though Anet admitted that they were wrong and should have done things differently, you are saying that they did not do anything wrong and that they should do it again the same way? Even when Anet says they won’t do it the same way again, you think that they should do it the same way?
I’m sorry but I don’t want to just accept any old thing put before me. I had high expectations for this game because of the promises Anet made before the game was released. I’m not happy nor am I satisfied with the way things are, especially some of the recent decisions.
I would love to be a loyal customer that buys gems from the gem store. As of now, it appears they would rather employ the marketing tactics so commonly found in retail stores instead of promoting the value of GW2 and ensuring that they foster loyalty in their core fan base.
I’m not happy with this tactic. You are?
When did I say Lost Shores?
When did I say Lost Shores?
I didn’t think you said anything about it. Were you happy with it?
I’d rather see Anet promote value and a great game than making money in the short run using the same tired old tactics that WalMart and other retailers use- to make a quick buck.
You’re saying Anet should not try to be better than that? you’re happy with the company that makes your MMORPG using cheap marketing tactics?
I’m not. I’m sorry but we just disagree.
I was very happy with Lost shores
Im not happy with your eloquent pseudo-anti-whatever bargain-hunter-attitude. I do not refuse marketing tools – i refuse the sheeps that even think about “falling” for them and then complain. You missed your bargain – what was it – 20 cents? 3 pages of blabla to tell us you want more sales? do you? less sales? no sales? what about buying stuff when you want, where you want and how much you want? Calling sales tactics shady means calling human beeings/customers dumb as ****. Im with you there. But that is not Anets fault

Cheap compared to which MMORPG?
I was content with Lost Shores, I did not dislike nor amazing like it.
Honestly, I am against shady marketing practices, but this 24 hours sales were nothing of that sort. All conditions of the deal were pretty well known. You knew that rate of the reduction and it was exactely this rate. No shady 90% discount sign on an item which was not sold usually and therefor has no certain price or stuff like that. The time of reduction was made clear – 24 hours and thats it. There are no other retailers who might sell cheaper, so this deal is not forcing you into a purchase that might be not as good as it looks. And you are able to buy each one of those items for the normal price afterwards.
You can complain that the timelimitation for the sale is a bit short, but that has nothing to do with tricking someone or such things. (Beside from a “normal” manipulation which comes along with a discount anyways. But that would mean they should not have any discounts at all and I personally would not be happy with that.)
News flash! Anet is a business. They are here to make money. As with any other business, sales are a good thing. They’re designed to bring people in the front door. Just because you missed it, it’s not a shady business practice.
I like sales. I even like one-day sales. I wish they would have a one-day sale every weekend. See how that works? I think the OP is arguing just for the sake of arguing. Please don’t feed the trolls.
