Is 100 the max # of items in TP inbox?
somewhere in the last several hours a dev said there is no limit to how many items can be in your pick up tab. It just won’t give you more items than you can fit in your inventory at a time. I have a feeling it was points of interest ep 6…

The TP has always limited how many items you could pick up at once. A few patches back, they made sure that gold was never queued (but it used to be). I’ve always had to press “take all” a couple of times (even when my inventory didn’t fill up).
Are you seeing something else?
It may just be a coincidence that the number of items for me to pick up was exactly 100. I expected it to be much larger. I’ll stop taking items out of my inbox to see if the total can go past 100. I just hate the thought that my bids might be the winning bids, but fail to go through because inbox is full at a low number like 100.
The pickup has always been paged. If it wasn’t, the performance hit would be extreme as the database pulled thousand of results (for some people).
When the living story hit, I hadn’t emptied my pickup window in about a year. Since the living story now uses the same queue, I was forced to collect a few thousand items, which was mostly pages of varying crafting materials in the low quantity ranges. It turns out a year of casual playing and rarely selling items on the trading post (I hoard and only sell “spills”) was worth around 1k gold.
I am relieved to hear that Healix. Just now after a few hours of my orders being filled, I went to empty it again. Again it said 100 items. With a sinking feeling I counted them and sure enough there were only 100 items. I emptied it. For a brief instant it said 98 items, then it settled on 56 items, which I emptied. I didn’t count this time, but it looked like about 56, in my inventory, so I am sure it was. My concern after doing this was that perhaps 56 items which I had winning bids on suddenly became mine, not because I already had them bought minutes or hours earlier, but because now there was suddenly room enough for my winning bids, they came in almost instantly. That was my fear.
I should note that I have 80 to 100 empty spots in my bags normally, so I can get most of one “load” from the TP in one go. I assume when you (Healix) emptied out your window after a year that the multiple emptyings were into a similarly large bag inventory and that we are talking 100’s or1,000’s of items. However, in all fairness, this could be a recent change that occurred since you (Healix) removed that vast horde of items.
I sincerely hope that for whatever reason the TP just stops counting at 100 (which is kind of weird).

My thought is why even bother listing a number. It’s been asked elsewhere, did they test this patch on real players? If they did they didn’t (or couldn’t and that’s another topic) listen.

the video I saw about some of the devs talking about it said they had like 6,000 situations/things they tested (such as ‘does this back piece show up?’, ‘can you filter by rare level 68+?’, etc.). I think they didn’t have any sort of players trying it out, just paid testers.

When you collected 100 and then 56, the actual queue was 156. The box filled at 100 items and the rest of the items were already purchased, but not in the pickup box. Then, when you clicked “pick up,” the box emptied and allowed you to collect the remaining 56 — those orders didn’t suddenly fulfill; they were there already.
That’s exactly how the TP worked prior to the patch, the difference being how that was visually displayed.
