Jan 28th Update
In what way will they rise more than they already have?
They were only used for level 50 cooking before. Now they are used by the stack to infuse the best armor in the game. Rise they shall…imo.

Or you might be able to buy them using the new achievement system.
We can’t really tell until its released, but I’ll be kitten if it doesn’t reward lodestones.
haha, passion fruit speculation has already begun. wonder where it’s going to end, i place my bet at 3s, and then crash back to 1 :P
So they are introducing passion fruit into infusions?
lol, all passion fruit gone
lol everyone here is gonna get tricked into buying useless stuff.

define useless. The people who bought for 30copper and sold for 1s50c probably disagree with you.
Why would I use one of those infusions over a versatile simple infusion which is easily obtainable? +5 to any stat at all is negligible.

It’s the select few who will profit off people who falsely speculate. Reminds me of the folks who bought pumpkins.

A 4 minute run around Southsun Cove yielded me over 20 passion fruit – supply on passion fruit is just too high to justify a price > 20-40c imo.
Over time you will have 13 (or 14 if you dual wield) ascended pieces. That’s an additional 65-70 stats, which IS significant.
I agree with morphemass, the price is way too high and they are way too easy to get. Also I dont see them being used for anything new in the update. The notes for the update said the following:
“You’ll earn these brand-new laurels as a reward for daily and monthly achievements!
Redeem these laurels for rewards like the new Ascended gear and Infusions!”
so its not worth it to buy any items until you can see the new vendor list, but it seems to show pretty clearly that you can buy infusions and new gear which would remove the need for the items.
Why would I use one of those infusions over a versatile simple infusion which is easily obtainable? +5 to any stat at all is negligible.
In a game where consmetics is the only thing seperating people at endgame, small statistical advantages are…not small. It’s actually all that’s left for a lot of people who have their characters looking the way they want them to already.
too bad I don’t have a stockpile to “short” these things.
I dont know yet how many infusion slots will two handed weapon have but lets say one
So lets say 50% of the playerbase is using two handed weapon the other half dual wield
When only 1000 players would get offensive infusions, 375K passion fuits will be needed
So there is lot’s of potential for investing into it
Passion fruit are easier to get than karka shells, so I know that I deliberately make choices to get offensive slots rather than defensive slots on my gear for that reason. When the new amulets hit, I’m betting pretty seriously that the 30 of them are 10 stat lines x 3 infusion slot types: offensive, defensive, and utility. Unless utility offers something crazy new, I’m still gonna be weighting my gear choices towards offensive.
But I don’t mind farming my own passion fruit either.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
