I personally havn’t seen anyone using winter weapons.

I have the shortbow on my ranger and the shield on my guardian. I love the way they look (white mist and snowflakes flow from them), unfortunately shield is worthless on the guardian so it sits in inventory. I use the shortbow whenever I play my ranger and have gotten a couple of questions about it.

They aren’t very common these days, (now that people have more choices), but some people still use them. Not surprised if Arenanet removes them, though I don’t understand why they just can’t make another NPC or put them in gem shop.
