I know it will probably take quite a while before its done but can any Dev give us some info on the progress of making a new Flamekissed Light Armor skin? Like have you found a mesh to base it on? Do you have an ETA on its release?

Peeps, we’re still kind of in the middle of the holiday break. I’d wager that productivity in most non-retail industries in countries celebrating christmas and new years’s isn’t exactly at its peak right now I know people at my university aren’t even allowed to work in their offices before next week, because everything is shut down and locked up at the moment…

I’m kind of glad they haven’t come out with the new one..because i LOVE the one they had. Thankfully I can enjoy it until they “fix it”.

i wouldn’t mind if they recycle winged armor but with added flame effects…..

It is going to be new art, like a Hester Prynne dress, bloomers, one of those godawful masquerade masks, mukluks, one half a set of football shoulder pads and wool mittens all with the same paucity of flame effects as the medium and heavy armors…

I hate the winged armor. God. Please. No.

no its freakin wasnt, i blew 100g on mine for a suit and the next day people can buy it for gems, youve got to put yourself in those people positions, why cant i get asuran t3 for my human

same could be said for people that bought before you when 100G Worth 4X they Worth today….

They should remove your asap

I’m waiting for the ETA, too. I think they could discuss with the designers by this time when they can “fix it”. Waiting becomes too long. Either cancel the decision or at least give some time frames (2/6/12 months).

I’d like an update on this too.

I bought the Flamekissed armour skin but I feel like a pariah wearing it. For the most part, it’s gathering dust in the bank waiting for the update…

I’d love an ETA on this as well. Still enjoying wearing my flamekissed armor on my ele, but it kinda gives me anxiety not knowing when it’ll be changed :-/

I bought my t3 human cultural… on several characters and I have no problems with the flamekissed armor I actually wish it was still on the gemstore because I like it more than the t3

Actually if people like you didn’t rage so hard maybe they would have made a reskin of asuran t3 that your human could have enjoyed. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Unless they’re going to redesign them all, it doesn’t look like it. Looks too much like heavy armor to be the light redo.

Hm .. Chest and Legs at least looks a little like feathered set to me .. the rest .. ok .. has maybe a little more a heavy look.

I agree, it’s been quite a while and given how hostile this topic can become, there really should be an update about the progress of this because it really just seems like it got swept under a rug at this point.

The medium and heavy (flame themed) are terrible, so they had to be consistent. This way they avoid another kitten storm like the first. Well… they avoid one of the two kittenstorms that is bound to come. The current owners will kitten and whine for while on the forums, giving us ample time to savour their tears.

Well since anet is the sole responsible of that mistake…

And people with flamekissed is the only part damaged…(they are recycling anyway)

Why don t they communicate their planned skin and ask us if we like it?
They had an easy way out just giving Anise armor (already in game)….

Or just avoiding ruining one of the coolest set that is feathered…..its one of my fave and to make it so hideous takes really effort.

P.S: i watched it again…. i use feathered as PVE armor…and that is not a feathered light human…

Look at flamekissed AND feathered helmet….
They have in common 1 thing:
not being invasive as an helmet…seems clearly designed for players not liking helmets.

Now changing flamekissed with something that is the exact opposite of it, sounds totally wrong.

I mean i fancy light elegant armor against a “battlemage” aggressive armor?

Anise, feathered or winged would be the most appropriate…..

Personally i dislike the lower part of the winged pants .. how it hovers above the ground looks just strange.

Frankly, I see almost nothing appealing about the design

Another front cut away skirt…..

Another set of heavy clumsy looking gloves….

A heavy helmet that hides the hair……

Another set of shoulders that make a light armored character look like a linebacker…

I supported the recall only because the T3 cultural with flames was so much ‘prettier’ than the other two released. Now at least everyone gets to spend gems on unimaginative (and fugly) designs. And the coming backlash will be glorious, as it should be.

I miss the point of anet wanting to design an ugly armor on purpose when they can simply recycle 2 beautiful armors with almost 0 work.

And i d add that the light would be far worse than the other 2 sets….since not only is horrible but doesn t even seem a light armor.

I understand their innate hate for light professions, but this would mean makes TP buyers more angry than they are for the incident…and lowers potential new buyers…

This armor wouldn t possibly even repay the small work behind it….i think it could contend the title of worst light skin with the ascended.

I ll just try to remember with you what happened:

3 reskins were released on the TP.
People complained with the excuse of the Cultural while instead they were just jealous to see their expensive skin becoming less rare, and the worst possible answer was given without ANY effort to find a fair solution.

At this point (and this is what you don t remember) they promised an AWESOME skin to replace the flamekissed……as an apology.

Now they can just recycle few nice skins or release an hideous one to make TP buyers even more angry…and as usual push the mistrust people have toward anet….

Now doing a mistake is a thing, ut doing mistake on purpose that won t have ANY good consequence for anyone, is not something i would expect……

As i said if they are lazy they have 2-3 easy way out of the situations….all of them are already in game…one is across the most demanded…and would sell a lot.

If it looks anything like the feathered set, I’ll be taking a refund + transmutation splitters and promptly converting the gems to gold to buy human t3…

I looked at that armor skin on Reddit, and that is no fit replacement for the original Flamekissed…and I bet it will look horrible on an Asura

I bought this skin when I first saw it in the Gem Store. I whipped out my payment with out a second thought…it looked that good on my hard to dress Necro Asura.

For good measure I also bought Flamekissed for my then male Sylvari Elementalist…I say then because “he” is now a “she.”

Then I read the complaints about it being a copy of Human Cultural.

ArenaNet, in response, pulled the armor from the Gem store, and got to work making a replacement which they said it would be…err…I can’t recall the exact wording, but, to paraphase, they said it would be worth the wait.

And they give us this armor I just saw on Reddit?? This is the armor they said would be worth the wait? Bah.

The facts are
(1) They put a skin up for sale in the Gemstore, I bought not one, but two sets.

(2) They pull it, and replace it with something ugly???? I know ugliness is in the eye of the beholder, but they should have made the replacement as close to the original as possible as that is what people plunked down their gems for.

If it looks good on my Asura I will accept the replacement as I do understand that mistakes happen, but looking at this model, I highly doubt my female Necro Asura will be a good fit for it.

So, I will be in line for a refund…maybe for both my skins if it looks bad on my Sylvari Elementalist, and I will want them to replace not only the gems I spent to get the skins, but also for the the armor underneath…Transmutation splitters, is that what you call them?

Please Anet, do right by those of us who liked it enough to buy it in the short window it was up…please.

Lisa-Hoping that this ugly model is not the Flamekissed Model….I am also hoping that color will make this model look better. I need to keep an open mind until it actually shows up in Gem Store. Open mind is always good…

I agree that the heavy armor is “Fugly” as all get out. With the proper dyes, medium can be quite nice.

Sadly, I also agree that as things stand now, between the new pick, and ugly replacement armor, when they promised us nice looking armor, Arenanet is going to have quite a PR nightmare on their hands.

Oh my Gosh, if the replacement light Flamekiss is as ugly as the Heavy armor Flamekiss after telling us the replacement will be nice looking, then I fear that Light armor users and haters of the New Gem Store Pick will join forces and go on social media and rip Arena Net a new one. Is possible to request a refund for the Flamekissed ?
Because i’ve payed 800 gems to have the old Flamekissed and not for the new one.
I not like this one and want a refund.
