With the previous trading post, I would regularly search for all exotic weapons, skip to the price range I was interested in and browse through them looking for good deals.

With the new trading post, there appears to be a limit on how many results are returned from a search and apparently no way to refine your searches by price. Does this mean it’s now impossible to skip to a certain price bracket or see items at all above a certain price?

I suppose I could do multiple searches, filtering by class or weapon type or something but that is rather tedious. A price filter would seem so much more sensible – or at least let us jump to a certain section in the results. All the trading post websites have had this sort of functionality for ages, I don’t understand how the new trading post design is still lacking in these sorts of features.

Sort by price and scroll down to your price range.

Also I don’t remember the ability to set a price range.

I tried that but I get a message saying “Max. results reached. Refine the filters to narrow the results”. In the case of exotic level 80 weapons, I can’t see anything that costs more than 3 gold when sorting by price.

edit – Never mind, someone just showed me how to fix this <3

Care to share that insight. In case others are experiencing the same issue.

Yes, please tell us how to solve this; I have a different search I used to do (see all available green armor) that limits out at the cheap stuff. How do I see the complete list without spending the rest of my life clicking each armor type?

I found the answer to mine in another post. There is an extra secret double handshake required: click the gear in the left hand window and a rarity filter will drop down. Horribly implemented and unintuitive, but it works.

So it displays X max based on quality filter? That’s annoying.

ANet apparently decided that pagination was ~too complex~

I don’t mind scrolling, I actually like it better than paging. But I understand what you are getting at, before they could fetch 10 at a time Vs your entire history. So instead of your entire history, you get last 100 or something on each of the transaction lists which for me only bugs out history.

Honestly they really need to fix that for buying and selling lists. Limited history is okay … for now but heavy buyers and sellers are very, very annoyed.

I’m very, very annoyed. I get two days worth of bought/sold info when isolating those lists, which is all but useless. We don’t even have the ability to manually search deeper than this.

This overhaul looked pretty good in the preview video on Twitch, but in general, it’s just made virtually everything I do slower, more tedious, and less efficient than it was yesterday.

I never would have believed I’d be pining for the old interface.

I don’t miss the old interface at all. Well, unless they tell us it will be 3 months before they fix the issues with the new TP.

The old interface was less efficient on the back end, but more efficient on the user side as far as I can tell. Since I’m a TP user and not a bandwidth/CPU cycle bean counter for ANet, it’s the latter I care about and the only thing I can validly comment on. Simply put, it takes me longer to do pretty much everything than it did before, and in at least one case, it takes perhaps ten times as long simply because the old interface was less cluttered and easier to manipulate.

I grant that for more casual users, this implementation is probably better if only because it appears better. I don’t expect ANet to add new “power trader” options, however, I strongly dislike the new limitations and removal of useful functionality.
