So I’m new here. I just picked up Guild Wars 2 a few days ago and I’d been having a great time. I recently noticed that the Black Lion Trading Post tabs have completely stopped functioning and instead give me the infamous blank screen. My agitation about this has caused me to scour the internet in search of guides and help and information on the topic, however, for mac users it’s just not that easy.
I have done everything possible to try and solve this issue and yet it remains unaltered. From quitting processes in Activity Monitor, to deleting the Guild Wars 2 folder in /Application Support. I meet all system requirements and I just do not know what is going on! I have even tried to use the patch that was released to fix this issue. I can tell you first-handedly that it did not.
Please help a fellow Tyrian!
(Also don’t post windows solutions to this problem as it wouldn’t make a difference)

Yup, getting the same thing, sometimes it does load but its all text with very limited graphic text boxes, useless. No fun full graphics that I was getting a week agao 8(. Also tried the App Support GW2 directory delete, no luck, anyone else have a successful solution to this issue, hurry, my inventory is getting pretty full.

I think the problem is that you’re on a mac ;3

No. The problem is that gw2 wasn’t made to work on a mac. They just packaged it into a windows emulator (wine), which itself is spotty at best. It’s not easy making a game that works on both platforms, and this is the result.
As much as I love macs, I agree that playing on bootcamp is less aggravating. Bootcamp has unnoticeably better fps. But more importantly, it has less game-breaking bugs such as this TP one.

While macs are great and awesome for some things I will NEVER game on a mac

Most games aren’t created for Mac, which is why I stick with PC for gaming, even if they have a version, or beta version in this case, They aren’t well optimized and they have way too many bugs.

You’re on a Mac and encountering technical issues with the trading post.

  • Step 1: Visit the “Mac Beta Client Tech Support” forum.
  • Step 2: See that there is already a thread on the subject of the BLTP which also happens to be the very first thread on Page 1.
  • Step 3: Click on the very first thread titled “Black Lion Trading company” (which also has a red icon to show there is at least one dev response in the thread on the matter)
  • Step 4: Read the thread and the dev responses to see the situation and that it isn’t only you having the issue.
  • Step 5: Wait patiently for the matter to be resolved.

Greetings!

We already have a thread on this in the Mac sub-forum, which is for technical issues specific to the Mac beta client. Thanks to Mystic for linking it.
