Major Sigil of Air high trading?
- John Smith
I get them from rares in southsun, havent really paid attention but they are on most if not all rares in southsun it seems.
I get these a lot from rares as well. Used to get them on every single rare whenever I fought Tequatl. Get them quite often, but not all, in Southsun. I figure the supply is just from being farming these rares and salvaging for ectos.
That would explain the supplies, but what about the demand? Oo
Gambling for exotic sigils. It becomes more profitable the lower the price for the rares sigil was.
Legendary counter: Twilight, Bolt, Incinerator, Incinerator Nr. 2, Meteorlogicus, The Dreamer
but 2.9s is not profitable to gamble for exotics.

It’s highly traded which means it has a high volume of transactions. Doesn’t necessary mean people are buying it a whole lot. Could also mean a lot of people are selling them.
And I do get them more often than other runes.
But yes, there is a demand for gambling on runes.
So combine steady demand for the cheapest runes + highest supply of the sigil of air rune = top traded item.
And 2.9s is a good bet. If you end up with Rune of Divinity…

Talking about sigils, most of the really expensive sigils on TP is not forgeable not sure about how it is for runes.
It’s definitely for gambling at the forge.

you can not put major sigils in the forge and get superior runes out :P
it is definitely possible to make a profit from buying major sigils, forging them, and selling the superior sigils you get. I wouldn’t recommend it, though: I spent a few minutes placing a huge amount of buy orders, then waited 2 days for less than half of them to be filled, then started with 1200 major sigils and spent about an hour putting them all in the forge (~400 forgings), then reforged the majors that came out and sold all the superior sigils. made about 6g profit (~17% profit) after TP tax. In the end I decided it was profitable, but not so good when looking at profit/time. It would probably go faster if I wasn’t so concerned about selling the more valuable major sigils rather than reforging them (I ended up not doing this, but that was my plan when I started). I bought all the major sigils at less than 2.5s each. 2.9s each would reduce the profit to 1g. even less worth the time.
One thing I noticed: the first round of forging consisted of about 10 different major sigils, and those produced about 15 different superior sigils and 30 different major sigils. The second round of forging consisted of those 30 different major sigils, and those produced about 10 new types of superior sigils. the second round produced far fewer superior sigils total, but it was just curious that they drastically increased the variety of them. almost like for each combination of sigil you put in, there is a set of possible outcomes.

Used to be a lot more profitable when there were more high cost superior sigils but they have come down a bit lately when everyone starts to use the same ones.
Is more cost efficient to buy rare weapons and diss them for the sigils, with 80% return rate and cost of salvage you are still way below 2s a sigil. However its a LOT more work and you dont have the same throughput on major sigils thus less volume.
I bought a truckload of these once at 1.80 silver, around 2k I think. It was barely profitable, and my hand hurt afterwards. No more sigil forging for me.
They should revise that system to allow for forging 10 sigils at a time, or something that involves less clicking. That reminds me, anyone here understands why it is necessary to click “OK” one hundred times when buying icy runestones, of which you always need 100 pieces anyway? Or why, when salvaging, you cannot disable the the confirmation system (click “OK”) upon salvaging rares? The economy very much depends on people who mass forge sigils, mass salvage rares, etc, to keep the economy healthy and to keep the ecto coming at a low price. On the other hand, the system does nothing to cater these persons. I mean, salvaging one rare requires three steps alone: (i) “double click salvage tool”, (ii) “click item to be salvaged”, (iii) “click OK”. Times infinity.
It’s just clunky.
I’ll add Jug of Water to that. can only buy in stacks of 10, and the T6 items that require it use 20. compared to coal, which you buy in stacks of 10 and use 1 at a time. should have an option to buy Jug of Water in stacks of 100 at the least.
