Currently the trading post has two fees:
– A listing fee. Charged when you place an order, listed on the screen when you’re making an order.

- A sale tax. Taken out of the proceeds of your sale. But the only way to notice this one is to see the difference between what the sell order screen says you will earn from the sale and the amount of coin you actually get.

Hiding it is just asking for angry players when they notice it.

Most people don’t even know there is a 10% selling tax. It took me almost a week to realize there was a 10% fee above the 5% listing fee.

Signed.
Even though I knew about this “feature” it’s annoying to calculate each and every margin every time.

Why do you need a spreadsheet? For the mathematics, or record keeping, or something else? You need just under 18% markup to make up for the taxes; round that up to 20% to account for a decent profit margin and then the maths is easy.

Agree, they need to show 2 values when you are posting something to sell:

amount of total sale
amount you will receive (adjusted for both listing price and sales tax)

All you have to do is take your sell price and multiply it by 0.9 on a calculator. I agree its annoying but its not difficult.

Agreed. They need to say it somewhere and not hide it like they do.

But this should go in the suggestions forum.

YUP!!!!! +1 . I know it’s there.. and it still annoys me. Either show end sales figures, or change a 15% fee up front… Common guys, if I did this in my business I would have gone bankrupt long ago.

Those only work if you know about the sale tax. Which a lot of people don’t. Either because they are new, or they don’t read any GW2 forums.
