I was just passing along the info so those interested could take advantage of it. If you all want to argue and grumble about someone trying to be friendly and post and FYI where many forum visitors will read it have at it.

That isn’t a forum post and the link doesn’t link to a forum post. I’ve seen you around here long enough to know that you should know when you are on the forum or not. There is no post from ANET about the March deals in the forum. Now I know you just want to argue so have at it. I’m going to have some breakfast.

The News Section is on the front page of the website, so its basically in front of the forums.

All news also show up in the launcher, everytime you log into the game, if you havent turned off that feature off.

Why do you expect another announcement form Anet in the General discussion forum?

Well maybe because if you are trying to sell something it is a good idea to get the word out to the people that read these forums everyday. You know, to expose the most potential customers to the product as possible. I don’t know how your browser is setup, but when I click my GW2 forum bookmark I don’t go to the main website first. Anyway, you just want to argue for the sake of it. So I will let you have the last word. Enjoy your weekend.

I am not trying to argue, but maybe ArenaNet considers their main website page to have the most traffic, and that it reaches more people than, say, the forums. It has been said many times that forum-users are a small part of the player-base, much less the whole gaming population.

So, they might think that is the best place for announcements. Not to mention there are probably links to it on Twitter, and Facebook.

I don’t think I remember very many posts or announcements here in the forums about sales or whatever that show up in the ‘News feed’. Besides, someone almost always makes a post about anything interesting! And things not-so-interesting, as well! Lol.

Good grief… I make one small comment in a thread that was intended to draw attention to the new Gem Store promotion and it leads to this. If anything, all this debate about where Anet should post announcements has brought attention to their promotion so that is a good thing. Thanks to all of you for keeping this thread afloat.

Anet, please feel free to queue me for your next 400 gem survey.

I think it is great you made the thread. =) As to the responses, you did ask/wonder why ArenaNet didn’t post an announcement here, so posters are answering that.

Fingers crossed for Rox Quiver and Quaggan Minis making a comeback this month!

It states a different item will be on sale every day for 31 days straight. Those three items are examples of items to expect.

Also, thank you for being thoughtful, JustTrogdor. I think they do not utilize their forums nearly enough or as well as they should.

The news article says “You’ll get 31 chances to save big on different Gem Store items or pick up a popular item from the past!” so I’m also hoping the Rox quiver backskin is among such popular past items making a return.

It would also be better for them to post it on the forums and update it each day or change (like the patch notes) so i get where the OP is coming from. It would also help for those of us at work who do not have access to the ingame cashshop.

So, wat is on sale today?

Today is braham, phoenix, and magitech Armor sets. They are 640 gems.

As an FYI for those that have not noticed, Shades is keeping tabs in this other thread of what is currently on sale and what has already gone on sale, on which day and how much of a discount they are offered at. Something Anet should be doing on the forums, but, like this thread, was left up to players to inform and spread word out of the kindness of their hearts.
